Calibre Art Rotating Mat

Calibre Arts

This is the same post from last week, with the exception of a few additions and some news about Sunbonnet Sue and Sam…

I have 3 codes left for today for anyone who wishes to use them, please just drop me an email via my contact form, or contact me on Facebook via my page there. I will remove this paragraph when the codes are gone.

Samuel has extended the coupon sale. These mats are already on sale at Amazon, but you can get an additional 50% off, if you want to buy a mat, this is the time to try and win one of the 5 coupon codes handed out each day this week till Friday.

You do need to enter daily, the entries are not added to the next day. Please check your email, I got most of these out last week every day by 8 am and one day by 9 am, so you have plenty of time to purchase the mat, but you do need to check your email, if you check the blog and see your name, but have no email, write me in email, I will check it.. There were some people who used different emails to enter last week, but I have them on my contact list with a different email, so if you have more than one account, the emails do go to the one you give to rafflecopter.

Samuel at Calibre Arts has written me in email and they are introducing their new 18-Inch rotating mat. They want to offer my visitors a 50% off coupon for the mat for you to enjoy their mats with. This is an amazing deal for one of their mats and the rotating mats are absolutely fabulous. I love mine well I love all my Calibre Art mats, but the rotating ones are really amazing as the mat does stay in place and turns easily when you need to rotate the mat. The grip on the table is also amazing, the bottom of the mat does not slide or move while your cutting and like all their mats, it heals instantly, cleans up nicely and the lines are also very accurate. These are wonderful mats… I want everyone to have one… If you think you’d like to take them up on their offer, you just need to enter the giveaway below, and tomorrow, I’ll draw 5 names to send the 50% off coupon code to. I’ll do this each day until Friday, May 12, 2017.

These would make a great Mothers Day gift, birthday or even early Christmas gift for someone who needs a new mat, whether you sew, craft or quilt.

Four Years Today…

stbs-2017-4th Blog Birthday-b-small

stbs-2017-4th Blog BirthdayIt’s amazing to think that four years ago today I opened my blog. I’ve noted several times over the past four years that I started this blog mainly because I was going to participate in a blog hop for Electric Quilt that Bea was hosting. The thing is, I had already been planning to open a blog, I owned this domain already, and it needed a new plan or I was just going to let it go… I had already been working to start quilting again, we’d just moved to a new home in Italy after having lived what is known as “on the economy” in military terms. We had moved to base housing as an opportunity arose for us to do so and it was much less expensive to live there than on the economy.

I loved living in that home, it was hard to leave it last October. However, I’m not sorry we moved back to the states, we are definitely happy to be home. I’m close to my family, Frank is close to his and we are essentially home here in Colorado.

I’d like to thank all of my followers and visitors and especially my friends that I have made over the years, because of opening this blog. So, I have a free pattern for you today that you can download until Sunday, April 10, 2017.

Happy New Year and a Year In Review…

Best of 2016

Best of 2016I’ve never really thought about all of the things that can happen over a year or so, but it really is amazing to see how things turn and evolve thru each day, week and month. Last year at this time, I participated in a linky party with Meadow Mist Designs

Last year at this time, I was amazed that I had just over 100 posts for the entire year of 2015, I thought it was an amazing feat to accomplish, but this year, even tho I had a few low months, I still managed to beat that accomplishment with 166 posts to my blog in 2016 versus the 109 I had for 2015. I never thought it would be possible to be honest.. but I had a fun year offering events such as hosting blog hops, and even a second block of the week series during the summer.

About Marian

Marian at WeddingIt’s very exciting to create any new website. I’ve built quite a few for other people in my time on the internet and I’ve enjoyed working on each one of them including my own websites.

It’s always fascinating to see them come together with the different colors and design of your site. Of course sometimes there are the frustrations when things don’t go the way you want them to as well.

Like building websites, quilting is much the same. We build our sites with color, and design in mind, much the same as making a quilt. It can be annoying, frustrating, spectacular and totally amazing when we see it finally coming together the way we want it to be. So, with that said…

Hello and Welcome, My name is Marian Pena, I’ve been sewing since 1974. I started learning in Home Economics while in the 9th grade. I just didn’t seem to understand all the little┬áidiosyncrasies┬áinvolved. One needs to learn how to stitch a seam, the importance of that seam, and why we stitch clothing at a normal 5/8 inch seam allowance, much like in quilting where that 1/4 inch seam allowance is the standard. I finally was lucky enough to happen on someone who wanted to teach a summer course when I was 15. She was my best friend’s sister, and her name was Ronnie. She was amazing and I have her to thank for my love of sewing still today.
