Today is the final day of Quilt Qwazy Queens and other than announcing todays The Fat Quarter Shop and Quilters Dream winner which will be tomorrow, I must say it has been a lot of fun to see everyone’s projects, read about there UFOs, and just a joy to see some of them get done. This was our 3rd year doing this same blog hop, its name does not change each year, last year I started adding the year onto the name as I think it’s cool to do this one every year.
I will be featuring my UFO today in a separate post, it will be located directly on the link of this post with the schedule, so it will take you to my post.
I’d like to just take a moment and thank you for visiting, for your comments, letting me know how much you’ve enjoyed this blog hop. I wish to thank the sponsors for there generosity in offering giveaways for each day of this hop, and to the bloggers who wrote a post about there UFOs, whether finished or unfinished and even for the tips on what you can do with those unfinished projects.
So, lets get to the schedule…
I’ve talked about this project for weeks now… and while it’s not quite finished or as finished as I’d like, I have enough done that you can at least see it and see the layout and such.
This project stems from my time on Genie Online Services back in the 1990s. This quilt has traveled with us from Virginia where my time on Genie was, to Arkansas, Texas, California, Germany, Italy and now resides in Colorado with us. I attempted to start putting this together while we were in Germany, but I quickly realized that while I had good intentions I didn’t have all the necessary supplies I needed to finish this quilt… Mainly rulers.
This quilt was created in all by 25 people on Genie, Continue reading
Well I am a bit late posting today, my apologies for that. I didn’t get the Aurifil drawing done, but it is posted below with the Studio 180 winner.
I had a very busy day yesterday, I’ve been working on a fun project for a blog hop next month with a pattern I design specifically for it, I wanted to get a jump start on it today as I have quite a few blog hops coming up in the next few months and I want to have everything caught up.
So, let’s get to the schedule for today…

Studio 180 Winner
We are into day 03 with just two more days to go of Quilt Qwazy Queens. If your going to comment today, tell me what you did for Worldwide Quilting Day? Did you visit your local quilt shop? Make something special? Start a new project? me? I sewed all day taking a few breaks for email and checking Facebook and then back to my machine I went… With this in mind, we’ve seen lots of great projects so far, even some of those wonderful UFOs that baffles every quilter, even if your a quilter who finishes everything, you might still save scraps, or small test blocks, all of of which can be used to start new projects that may end up in the UFO bin.
I have enjoyed seeing how you store some of your UFOs, as well as reading the ideas of what you can do with them as you finish them. I liked the idea of finishing the tops to have them ready to be quilted for those last minute gifts we all run into at times. I need to get on top of that. 🙂
I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store today from our bloggers… Here’s the schedule…

The Winner For Aurifil‘s Giveaway will be drawn later this morning and announced here when done.
Wasn’t yesterday fun!! I know I enjoyed visiting the blogs and seeing what the other bloggers are up to and even seeing how many UFOs they have is fun. While I know I have a few, I am definitely behind the mark in having a lot of them. Since I use to sell a lot of my finished stuff or gave it to charities and even to friends and family I use to finish many of the projects I had. Most of my UFOs are from swaps I’ve done on the internet in the late 90s. Even the UFO for my featured day comes from one of those swaps.
Today’s schedule is as follows:
Friday, March 16, 2018
| FunThreads Designs | Elizabeth Coughlin Designs | Quilting with Vanda |
| Life in the Scrapatch | Thrift Shop Commando |
Winners for the X-Blocks Template Rulers
| Liz H | Susan R | Lori S | Elaine S | Sherry N |
I’ve only just drawn them so please watch your emails.

Giveaways for today Are:
I am very excited about the start of this blog hop on Thursday. It marks the third year in a row that we’ve celebrated Quilt Qwazy Queens during Worldwide Quilting Day. I love that this event is held each year over something that all warms our hearts as a day that celebrates the quilter in all of us. Whether your hitting your favorite quilt shop for the sales they might offer that day, visiting your favorite blogs, this fun event always tries to evolve around what is part of our everyday lives as quilters.
The theme this year of Quilt Qwazy Queens is UFOs. I didn’t ask bloggers to finish UFOs, instead I asked them to talk about the ones we have still to do, possibly finish one, or show off some pictures of there UFOs, as a commenter you have lots of power here to say what you think they could do to perhaps inspire them to finish there project. Some have finished there UFOs, I’m doing one for instance that I have wanted to finish for nearly 25 years now. I’m not going to get it quilted, but the top should be finished. I’m going to wait and quilt it when I take a longarm class in June (my one splurge this year) so I can rent them to quilt some of my larger projects that I’ve been wanting to finish. I’m never going to buy a longarm machine simply because we still have at least one more move in our lives and I expect it to be into a much smaller place.
If your not sure how bloghops work, this is the basic run down… Continue reading
