Wooly Block Adventure… Are You In????

Wooly Block AdventureHave you heard of the Wooly Block Adventure

Created by the same people who also coordinate the Row By Row Experience, it’s a fun smaller event that is in its infancy. I believe it’s in it’s second year, where earlier this year it had less than 50 shops participate. They apparently changed the dates and now there are just under 200 shops participating. I love the theme for this one, it is Winter Wonderland, and as you know I’m moving to a winter wonderland in Colorado later this month. I’m very excited because this is just the opportunity I need to create something new for our new home.

Recently I have been involved in hoping to accumulate some blocks from the Wooly Winter Block Adventure as I want to make a lappy or two for my new home in the Wonderful Winterland of Colorado. So this adventure is just the thing to wet my willy and get me sewing. I love wool, I love winter, and I’d love all or any of you to come along and participate with me. Let’s have some fun swapping blocks. I’ll pick up some blocks from some of my new local shops, and you pick up some of yours and we’ll trade…

Let’s work towards creating a project with them for the A Fresh Snow Blog Hop coming in January.

If you’d like to pick up some blocks from other states participating, but don’t know of anyone to help you out, consider joining these two groups on Facebook to help you with your search for blocks.

Gallery/Info Group: Rowed Warriors Flock 2016 – this is more of a gallery group, where Teri West works very hard to separate the pictures by state and categories helping us to find blocks easier when we are searching for certain types of block categories, re: snowmen, holidays, etc…
Trading Group: Rowed Warriors Flock Swap – there is no pirating going on here, these are other quilters willing to help you with your search for kits and hopefully you can help them too.

Both of these are great groups, I love being part of them, and the people in them are also exceptional. I recommend the groups highly.

Below are all the shops participating as of Friday evening 11:30pm Berlin time. Not all the shops on the list are listed because they hadn’t sent the preview of their block into the FB coordinator for the page yet, but as I catch them I will add them. Those that I know of will be listed below with a simple text link to the shop.

Not In The Album

Quilted Creations
Sew ‘n Save of Racine

Every link was checked prior to linking so that the links work to that shop’s website or Facebook page. If a link came up with a 404 type page, it wasn’t added. Some shops are listed on the Wooly Block Adventure page, but the block hasn’t been added to Facebook, nor do they have anything on their Facebook page to reflect they are participating, so they to have not been added to this list either.

If your interested in picking up some blocks for me, I’ll do my best to pick you up a pattern or kit from Colorado, even Utah as I believe we’ll go to Utah for Thanksgiving… I have a definite project in mind and I need quite a few blocks/kits.

I hope I see you in my email saying heya Marian, I can get you this kit.. 🙂

I am in no way affiliated with the Wooly Block Event via the Row By Row Experience. I’m just a fan of this event as I love working with wool fabrics. Logos were obtained from the Row By Row Experience website for use in this post strictly to link to their site.

Have a great time collecting your Wooly Blocks, whether you trade or not.

I did see something about this last year, but I couldn’t participate. I see that the shop I go to for wool IS on the list – Greenback, TN – and I love their block! Thanks for the heads up.

I had not heard of this event, but I’ll happily do my best to pick up as many blocks/kits for you as I can. I still have a couple of kits from the recent RBR to send you. Once you know your new address, I’ll send them to you. I’m not going to try to get any of the wooly block designs for myself, but I’ll happily help to gather such patterns/kits for you.
