12 Days of Christmas Cards – Days 09 thru Day 12

stbs-12-Days-2020Well, this post took me a little longer to write than I thought it would. It’s been a busy week. Last weekend we had snow, and we couldn’t go anywhere. Even my physical therapy appointment on Monday was canceled.  When it snows, the internet also gets spotty and on top of all of that, we found a mouse in our house which meant having to go get some poison and then be really careful about where we placed it so that our little Boo wouldn’t get into it also. I was not happy to find that one of my older quilts has been eaten by the mouse, many holes, too many to even try and fix it. A project I made last August also eaten by the mouse so much so I couldn’t even show it during the bloghop. I had to quickly make a smaller project and thus my pattern re-writes had to go by the wayside for a day or two. So I do apologize. I will be happy to see 2020 go and welcome 2021 with hopefully a better outcome for the year.

This post covers the patterns I wish to finish for 12 Days of  Christmas Cards along with a few of my holiday traditions. I’m going to list this by day since I’ve got 4 days to catch up on in this post.. It’s just easier for me to do it that way. The free patterns will need to be scrolled for as they are listed by the day, not altogether.

Day 09

The last in the series of Christmas Card Animals… a cute little penguin is the free pattern.

I have an additional block for this set that was created but because it can’t be done in anything below a 12-inch block, I chose not to offer it as a free pattern, it only comes in 12 and 15-inch block sizes.

Isn’t this pattern just the cutest panda.. I love it, but the pieces at the eyes are just too small to create this pattern in anything under a 12-inch size, thus the reason it’s not offered as a free pattern. If you’re making the larger blocks tho, it is reasonably priced at the same price as all the other patterns and is included as a free pattern when you purchase the full set seen below.

My tester requested that size to make her quilt in it so I included it in the pattern also.

Day 11

I always try to create a Continuous Line series also each year for 12 days… I love continuous line designs, it is so much easier to quilt them and follow the chalk line to create them quickly. This year’s set is a border set.

stbs-2020-E2E-Christmas-Time-003The free pattern is this cute star border.

The free pattern is the 4×8 size of block 03 in the series

The full release pattern includes these patterns

These are offered in 2-inch to 6-inch wide border sizes.
Example sizes are 2 x 4, 3×5, 4×8, up to the 6-inch wide border
In all, this series has 10 different patterns with all but one offering 5 different sizes each for a total of 48 patterns.

The cool part about these border patterns is that it is easy to connect several different patterns together as they all line up at the start and stop points on each pattern so connecting them is as simple as lining up the end point to the start point of a different pattern. No need for a ruler to be sure they are lined up at all.

Day 12

For the last few years, I’ve also had an infatuation with cupcakes, so again this year I’ve created a small cupcake series.

The free pattern includes the 9-inch size in block 01 of the series.

and last today, normally I also offer a nativity, but this year I’m offering a pre-release of my newest block of the month. This is a paid botm, there are no free patterns in this botm.

This is row 1 in a 9-row series. All 9 rows are vertical.
The sizes for each pattern are 12×24 and 18×36

This is January’s block which would have been released on the 1st of January. Each following release will be on the 1st of each month from January to September 2021. Each row will intro at 7.50 which is a 25% discount from the original price of $10.00 per row.

  1. Thank you, great designs as usual. Wish I could afford to buy all the full sets!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

  2. The patterns of the 12 Days of Christmas Cards BOTM are all so cute. You took a lot of effort designing them. I appreciate your generosity in giving the 9” blocks to your fellow quilters for free. Thank you!

I can’t imagine a mouse eating my quilts. Goodness! You could borrow someone’s cat instead of putting out poison that your child could get to. My vet told me his neighbor frequently borrows his cat for that purpose. It cracked me up when he told me the story.

Lastly, I sent you a separate email telling you about 5 BOTM’s that I am aware of for 2021. Here’s hoping for a brighter and less stressful 2021!

  3. Sorry to hear about your mouse adventure, those critters can do a lot of damage. Hoping this coming week is not as eventful. Thank you for the cute patterns.

  4. Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen Muster. Diese viele Arbeit! Ich bin total begeistert.
    Vielen, vielen Dank.
    Liebe Grüße Gertrud

  5. What a series of mishaps! Mice are a menace, especially when they ruin something you worked so hard on. I am, however, glad that you are not sick as I was thinking you might be. Thank you so much for all the lovely patterns, and for all the herd work you put into this wonderful event,
