I am into my sixth year of doing this year’s 12 Days event. My 12 Days event always centers around a theme, in the past, the themes have been trees, snow, presents, and just plain fun. This year is no different, I have a theme and will announce it on December 01 when I start the event.
I have been plagued by some medical issues this year which have really slowed me down in my tracks. I actually started preparing patterns for 12 Days back in June 2020 this year so I’d be ready for December. Normally, I hadn’t started until November, but this year for some reason I found a theme I really wanted to do early on so got it started early on. Maybe my brain was telling me I needed to do so… I don’t know but am glad I did.
This will also allow me to release a few Sunbonnet Sue/Sams in November. I’d hoped to finish it up this year but I know that’s not going to happen now but it will happen early next year as we are more than halfway done with the release of all the states.
I’m going to post the rules today and I hope you will read them. I’ll point to them on each post during 12 Days, so when you write me it’s not going to help if you didn’t read the rules first because too often my answer is a no and those who’ve gotten a no, know I will say no. It’s not that I don’t feel for you because I myself have missed a block of the month pattern and then was told I couldn’t buy the individual pattern, that I’d have to buy the whole pattern. Ummm why… thus the reason I sell my patterns individually. I don’t think you should have to pay more for something than you need to. I don’t want to do it so I won’t do it to you.
The biggest rule of this event has always been that the download for the free pattern is a strict 24 hours only or when the next post-release goes up for the next day. It will always be a 24 hour period and sometimes a post will overlap with the previous day’s pattern but I always leave that pattern for 24 hours. Sometimes you might luck out in the 36th hour, but please understand that the pattern is limited to this rule and I will not bend on it. If you don’t get it in the released time period, it is available to purchase.
Basic Guidelines For This Event:
The rules are pretty simple so please take a moment to read them.
All downloads expire at the time of the next release or hopefully within 24 hours of the last post. Those of you who know me, know that no matter what a previous day’s download stays up for 24 hours at the very least, after 24 hours it’s subject to expiration. I am very strict about this requirement. I will not send you a free pattern if you miss the deadline.
Patterns posted on Fridays… In the past, I’ve kept the pattern up the full weekend as a free pattern. I will NOT be doing that this year. I know there are working people out there and you can’t always get to the various sites offering other things, but I have decided it is unfair to those who do come on the days of the event to get their pattern, so this is the one rule this year I am changing.
All downloads are on Payhip. – Payhip doesn’t always like mobile downloads, so be prepared to send it to your email, Dropbox, google drive, or any other cloud service you may use if you are using a mobile device to download with. All payhip items are sent an email with the download link even tho you can download right after the purchase in your browser. If you’re on a mobile phone tho, wait until you are on a device that you can use later. I do not own any mobile devices, so I do not know how to send it to your email, or a cloud service, I’m sure there are youtube videos or how to’s on the web to help you with this. Please get your download done the same day, as I delete these downloads after the expiration and they are removed from Payhip servers, they are not there forever for you to download freely.
If I made a mistake on a free pattern, the update will be fixed and everyone who downloaded it within the proper time frame will receive an email with the new download link to download it. You have 24 hours to get that done.
I will try to be posted by 6 am MST each day, but I’m not known for being on time during this event, so please know I will post as soon as possible. I’ve always ended this event on time tho, so don’t worry all 12 patterns will get posted.
All posts will also be announced on Facebook in my group: stbs-Row Alongs and Events and on my Facebook page. All of my posts are always automatically posted to my pinterest page also. ‘ll try to get it done on Instagram also, but because of my medical issues currently, I’m only guaranteeing Facebook. Of course, there are the other methods too, those of you who follow me via Blogluvin, Feedly and other email programs can watch for those posts but it has been reported that if your on a daily posting schedule with those services you may get those posts a day late. Thus it would be too late for the previous day’s pattern. You might consider changing your settings in those services to an email per post so that you get all the announcements as people update their pages.
Other than a few planned posts during November, I’ll be pretty quiet, but I do plan releases for Sue/Sam so be on the watch for those releases.
I hope to see you for 12 Days of Seams To Be Sew 2020..
Have a great week!!
I am an affiliate of the above companies when you click one of these links and purchase something, I earn a little bit of a commission with it. I use this money to help maintain my website and offer my free patterns to you. Every little bit helps, thank you so much for clicking and for your support. I don’t just offer up these brands to you I actually use their products and shop at these places. I would never partner with someone whose products I didn’t use.
Please remember it takes 2 minutes to comment, please say Thank You, whether you downloaded a free pattern, read a tutorial, or just learned something new. It takes time for people to write a post, take pictures, make a project, or even write a pattern.
Let them know you appreciate it.
If your comment doesn’t show up after you post it, it’s most likely gone to the spam folder. I will see it and approve it eventually, unfortunately, it just means something about your email address caught my spam filter’s eye.
