Absent but Here…. Some News, Not All The News…

2020 Patiotic 2 mediumHi Everyone, I know I’ve been a bit absent on the blog for the last month or so. Like many people, I have kept my sewing machine busy making masks. I’ll be honest when I say that I didn’t really think I was going to make any masks at all, but then I got to thinking about how my family is going to need them, Frank’s family, and even a few friends, then I saw a charity that was looking for volunteers, so I went to the task of making masks. I made a few for people who work with Frank and in all made about 50 masks, and let me just say… Gosh, they are time-consuming. Not the sewing part, but just the cutting, marking the pleats, then ironing it all. The sewing took far less time. Of course, there were still the doctor visits and now they’ve set up home care so that I wouldn’t have to go on every other week because it’s so hard for me to get on the base to take Frank to work and pick him up. In fact, I haven’t been able to get on the base at all for the last month or so as they have made it very difficult. I get it tho, they are just trying to protect there own also.

Today I have a fun release for you, a botm announcement, and a blog hop announcement, so let’s get to it…

2020 Patiotic mediumAs you can see I did two colorways, the lighter version being on the top of this post. I like the darker, but that’s just me. 🙂

By clicking the image you can find the full pattern on Payhip.

The full pattern is available for one week only at a 20% discount with the coupon code:
You must use the coupon code to get the discount. I am no longer going to refund if you don’t use it.

If you’re interested in just a few of the blocks, I’ve placed them on Creative Fabrica.
This is a new site for me to sell my patters. It has many patterns available for all types of crafting and clipart or fonts. It is mainly a font and graphics site, but you’ll find paper crafts, machine embroidery designs, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet patterns, and clothing patterns. It is finally nice to find another option to sell my patterns. You will only find individual patterns here. I will not be putting bundled patterns on Creative Fabrica. At this time I am not entirely sure what I’ll be adding to the shop there, but I will always place the single pieced patterns there as well as some of my older applique patterns and some of the continuous line designs. This is also a membership site, so you have the option of being able to sign up for the membership and download patterns with your membership. My patterns are downloadable with the membership. I’m not sure I’ll always include all patterns as part of the membership, but it will cover many of them. Currently, you’ll find us listed under the Graphics menu, although they do have plans to create a Needle Arts menu for the future.

Closeups of the Single patterns.
The full and individual patterns come in 10, 12, 15, and 20-inch sizes in the patterns.

Jeanne Rae Crafts has started a new block of the month called Star Garden. She obviously started this back in January, but even as of today I still have a hard time finding it on her site. Marge let me know this had started last month, so I’ve directly linked to it above and on my Around The Web botm page. It’s a lovely project, one I don’t think many of you piecers would want to miss out on.

stargarden500Today is also the start of It’s Cool To Be Square Blog Hop

I also hope to be releasing South Carolina with this release, we’ll see how time goes tomorrow.
I need to finish up my project today for tomorrow’s blog hop, so I won’t finish either patterns until tomorrow sometime, and hopefully, we’ll see a release on Wednesday morning, so be on the lookout for that.

If you got to the end of the post, here is a fun free pattern from the new Patriotic Sampler… The free pattern is only available on my site and only available as a free pattern through May 25th.

  1. Thank you for the Popsicle pattern. It’s a really hard time for those with medical issues. I will keep you in my prayers.

  2. Thanks. So glad to “see” you, I’ve been worried!
Yes, the masks are very time consuming . I only had 35 yards of elastic and I’m now out, so most of my mask making us over!
Posting website but nothing new for a couple of years, I’m currently locked out!

  3. How nice of you to make masks for others. They are more time consuming than many realize. I have also been making masks for charity, as well as for family, friends, neighbors. I also carry pre-bagged masks in my car and purse and give them out as I see people who do not have a mask. I’ve been amazed at how appreciative people are to receive them and at the same time how many valid charity programs have a need for donations of masks.

I’m glad you are able to find a way in these crazy times to get medical care. You are always in my heart and prayers. Having good medical care is very important (as you are fully aware). Big virtual hug

  4. Thank you for the pattern and for all the info on the blog hop and BOM. I’ve missed seeing your posts.

  5. Thank you so much for the pattern. I am also making masks. Not for charity right now as I have a big family who do not sew. when Done with those, I should be a Pro. Ha Ha.

  6. nice to see you again. I’ve been quite absent myself. masks are very time consuming, and I find them to be a bit depressing. it feels good to be helping, but sad reasons to be doing so/sew…
    Thanks for the ice pop.

  7. Good to hear that you are ok. Thank you for the Popsicle. It is adorable. I think I will make place mats with different flavors.
