Can You Believe It!!!

Personally, I’m in shock, the MOVERS are finally here… I can’t believe they actually drove here with the weather as it is.

Frankie did his part, he was up at 5am, and outside shoveling the sidewalk and driveway. He said the snow just slid away, so it wasn’t stuck or anything but still it was a lot of snow to be out their in the dark just shoveling away…

The view from outside my front door

Now I’m not silly enough to think that our “tiny” bit of snow even comes close to matching what some of you have received in the last day or so, but it’s so not going to be fun having to bring all those boxes and furniture into my home.

I wonder if the garbage men will come today to.. It’s recycling day also, so that’s another truck that has to come by… I sent Frankie off with the car today, so I wouldn’t have to drive in that stuff… He said it was slick..

and the even better news… I think most of you know Frankie and I spent Christmas week in San Diego, where I got to meet Darlene from Quiltshop Gal and that was a sheer delight. She brought us In ‘n Out burgers for lunch, and we had a bit of time to chat, although I admit, I would have loved more time, she’s an amazing lady and a good friend. Any how… we went to San Diego to empty our storage shed, which we had been paying on for these last 14 years and being home means I can’t afford that 380.00 a month rental fee anymore. So we needed to go and pack it up. I hired uPack  which is a moving company, but they have many options you can choose. We simply hired the trailer, they deliver it, we load it, they then drive it to you, and bring you the trailer to unload it. They called this morning and our trailer is here in beautiful Colorado Springs, and they will deliver it next Wednesday.. So… who’s coming to help unload it ? 🙂  I have coffee, tea, hot chocolate… 🙂 beer even.. LOL I could have had delivery sooner, but with the Italian movers here today, I’ll want some time to reorganize and get that stuff unpacked, because the storage unit is mostly my sewing room stuff, so it won’t be fun to unload it, since a lot of it is in bins and boxes.. 7 boxes of books and magazines just by themselves.. that wasn’t fun to load.. back breaking really. It will be fun tho to unpack.. imagine all the new things I’ll forgot I owned… yummy!!!

To say the least, it’s going to be a very exciting week.

How’s your week looking?

  1. Welcome back to the States! I hope the unloading and unpacking go smoothly and you’re soon settled in and content. I’d come help if Ohio wasn’t so far from Colorado – I’m jealous of your snow! We’ve hardly had any this year.

  2. I’m so happy for you, at last you can “relax”. Now you get to the really “fun” part of sorting everything in it’s place. Wishing you all the best and loads of fun finding all your treasures.
    Warm hugs, Ruthie

  3. I’m so glad they came! Your snow looks about like mine, and I don’t want to drive in it, either! We are getting more right now, so I’m staying home tomorrow. I have a storeroom like that, and I might consider that company myself. Sounds a lot easier than driving it myself. Mine probably isn’t as much as yours, since it’s about half that cost, but it would surely be nice not to have to pay for it any more. Really, I could probably donate at least half of it now.

I wish you the best of luck getting everything unpacked. If I were there anywhere within 300 miles, I’d come help you on Wednesday. =) I hope it’s warmer by then!

  4. Happy to hear you have your stuff! Now comes the fun part of unpacking and putting things where they need to go. Get your house in order.

  5. Oh how exciting and fun for you. Imagine the wonderful time in your sewing room getting “reacquainted” I have only moved once and I had a toddler and was 7 months pregnant. But I was able to stay at home and take my time. Ohh if only I lived closer I would come and help. 🙁

  6. Wow, $380 seems like a lot per month. I couldn’t afford it either. I hope it was for a huge unit. Be careful unloading and putting stuff away. The last thing you need is a sore back. Good luck.
