First, let me apologize for being very late this morning. I’ve only just gotten home last night from a family emergency, and am just now getting this post written.
A HUGE thank you to Carla at Creatin’ In The Sticks for creating this fun blog hoop featuring the color yellow.
As a child my favorite color was yellow, when my parents moved into a new house when I was 12 or so, I got to pick my bedroom color and I chose a bright yellow. In fabric, finding good yellow in prints is very difficult imho. It’s always been one of those colors that just seem to be really hard to get, yet when you find a good one you want to stock up on the yardage so you can use it over and over. Finding yellow in batiks, totally different story, there are plenty of them and you get a nice range of the value also which is awesome. Because batiks are so popular, I own many yellow fabrics now that I just dearly love and I don’t hesitate to buy new ones either. Yellow is my favorite bright color.. not my favorite color, but when it comes to bright fabrics, it’s yellow. 🙂
This post is short today as I need to get it posted and I have had very little sleep since getting home so plan to sleep the day away after I catch up on email this morning.

Hi Everyone, I know I’ve been a bit absent on the blog for the last month or so. Like many people, I have kept my sewing machine busy making masks. I’ll be honest when I say that I didn’t really think I was going to make any masks at all, but then I got to thinking about how my family is going to need them, Frank’s family, and even a few friends, then I saw a charity that was looking for volunteers, so I went to the task of making masks. I made a few for people who work with Frank and in all made about 50 masks, and let me just say… Gosh, they are time-consuming. Not the sewing part, but just the cutting, marking the pleats, then ironing it all. The sewing took far less time. Of course, there were still the doctor visits and now they’ve set up home care so that I wouldn’t have to go on every other week because it’s so hard for me to get on the base to take Frank to work and pick him up. In fact, I haven’t been able to get on the base at all for the last month or so as they have made it very difficult. I get it tho, they are just trying to protect there own also.
Today I have a fun release for you, a botm announcement, and a blog hop announcement, so let’s get to it…
Today is the start of the hop which represents all of us with Worldwide Quilting Day right around the corner this Saturday…
Did you know that March is National Quilting Month?
I did not know this until just a few days ago… I was amazed because I know September is National Sewing Month and I had the impression that quilting was just included in that. So it was a surprise to me to find out this is also National Quilting Month.
Quilt Qwazy Queens is a 5-year-old hop as of this year, that I hosted for the first four years. This year my time was just not going to be there and my dear friend Joan at Moose Stash Quilting offered to host this hop for me. I was honored that she wanted to take the challenge on and if you’ve seen today’s starting blogs you already know what a great job she did of getting bloggers to participate. I can’t wait to see what else is coming from the bloggers over the next 5 days of this hop. My day is Friday so you’ll see my post then for the hop.
If you haven’t seen the schedule yet, I’ve posted it below, be sure to visit everyone, there are some wonderful projects on each of these blogs and all of them will make you laugh. If I laughed and I did… then I know you will too …
I have two new Block Of The Month‘s posted also for you. I also have Sunbonnet Sue news inside this post. …. and more… have a look inside my post to see what’s happening. Continue reading
Each year with sheer anticipation I look forward to various designers and their block of the months. I just know they have planned something special for us that year. I am always saddened when they decide to take a break or stop for a year or so, but I totally get it also. The sheer amount of work that goes into a block of the month for free or for purchase is unbelievable. You can’t even imagine unless you’ve done one for yourself. At the same time, if you’re creating that quilt I know you look forward to getting it pieced or appliqued to go into your planned project so it has to be a let down when the designer is late, such as my current botms.

Hi all, I know it seems silly to release these literally the day before Valentine’s. It’s been somewhat difficult to get these done when I wanted to release them as I gained permission to distribute SVG cutting files from artwork during the creation of these patterns and of course, I had to take the time to create the SVG files, thus, they are getting released today.
Most of today’s patterns are very quick and easy and require little or no embroidery. I sure hope you like them.
These come in sizes 9×12 and 12×15, both sizes in each pattern. None of the patterns in this set include SVG Custting files (still trying to obtain permission to distribute) but some of them do have machine embroidery files.
When you purchase the full set, a bonus pattern has been included, making that 10 patterns in the set.
Of course, I also have a free pattern for you inside the post also.
