It seems like I plan to get it released and then end up having to fix a mistake and that’s exactly what happened last week. I realized Sam was a bit shorter than he should be in the block when I went to make the final images and I ended up having to resize him which meant having to redo all the templates, layouts, the SVGs, and the embroidery files. I am truly sorry I had every intention of getting this one released prior to July 4th but I can’t write a pattern in a day it just doesn’t happen that fast for me. At the same time, this is a really busy time with the row along happening right around the corner. We are now at 62 days until it starts and I am working to stay caught up with that also.
This release marks the 30th state released for Sue/Sam in the USA. Sam is the free pattern for this set. Come get your pattern… Continue reading
I’m sorry ya’ll have had to wait a bit on these, I’ve been buried in masks the last six weeks and that had to come first and foremost… I have South Carolina almost ready for release also with Missouri and Utah to follow in a few weeks.
This is a short and sweet post, I wanted to get these up tonight as promised in my post yesterday, so today a simple release…
Let’s Get To It… Continue reading
It’s a busy day here in the Pena household… I’ve been planning to release Sue/Sam in New Jersey for several days, but so many things kept getting in my way. Then today, I was writing an email to someone when I had to give her my blog address and I realized today is my 7th year blog anniversary. I’ve owned this domain for 18 years, but as I’ve noted before in various posts that the first 11 years of this domain were related to being a web developer. The last 7 now as a blog.
Its been a really great experience being a blogger, I can still remember the day where I thought blogging was silly back when I was developing websites for others, but I saw how much fun my customers were having and when I decided to get back into quilting it was an easy choice to open a blog and see where it went. I never thought I’d enjoy the experience as much as I have, nor that I’d make such wonderful friends along the way. I know this blog is the reason I’ve made such wonderful friends.
Today I have for you a new Quilt Along and I promise you this isn’t an event you will want to miss, I also have for you, Sue and Sam In New Jersey being released… Continue reading
I’ve been saying it for days, but trying to finish last week just took me in so many different directions. I’d planned to release this Saturday night then got sidetracked by a mistake I noticed so needed to fix it today and retest it so I knew it was correct. Thus I had to fix what I’d already written into the pattern.
Today I have for you Sue & Sam in Nebraska and Idaho. I know it seems like it’s been a while, but 12 Days kept me very busy as did the rest of December and January. Because I’m also trying to finish up Twas the Night I have held off doing these and at the same time, I do expect to have at least two releases per month over the next few months of 2 states per release. I need to finish Twas The Night which is just two more blocks and then it’s done and we’ll be zooming on Sue/Sam in the USA… I won’t finish by my March deadline, but I do think we can finish by June 2020 if all goes well.
We are finally at the halfway point for Sunbonnet Sue/Sam… doing 50 states is a big undertaking, Nebraska is the 25th state, and Sue/Sam USA is now 50 blocks large. Idaho makes it the 26th state, so we are now more than halfway done… LOL!! and there are 52 blocks. In the end, you’ll have 100 blocks for this botm.
You’ll notice some changes in the pdf patterns. Continue reading
I was hoping to get this posted yesterday, but I forgot that it was my day at the doctor’s. Sometimes it’s just in and out and other times it’s half the day. Yesterday was one of those half the day kind of things. I’d had an infection in both my feet for the last few weeks, so she couldn’t do her normal thing four weeks ago when I was last in, Two weeks ago it was canceled due to a snowstorm in the area. My doctor drives in from Denver to treat people on Wednesdays each week. So I am sorry it didn’t get posted yesterday, but here I am today with Florida being released.
Sam is the free pattern for Florida.
Let’s get to the download…
Just a note of thanks. I know how patient you have been waiting for me to release more patterns for this series. Believe me, I to just want to finish it up at this point. However, we still have 26 states to go until it’s done. Their is no way I can finish that prior to the end of the year since the end of the year is a mere 9 to 10 weeks away. I need to finish Twas The Night up first which has only 6 more patterns to go before it’s done. So, this is the plan basically speaking… Every other week until it’s finished, Sue/Sam will get a release. Twas the Night on the weeks Sue/Sam isn’t released. Once Twas The Night is finished, I’ll work on releasing a pattern a week for Sue and Sam. With the exception of the 12 Days of Christmas Event in December which I’m sorry but no releases will happen during that period since that’s a free pattern per day event. Please note that just because I’m changing how often these will get released, you still have 30 days to finish a pattern to turn it in and get the opposite block free.
