If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you might visit on a semi-regular basis. A huge Thank You for that. I appreciate all of you.
As you know we are about three weeks now before the row along starts and lots of things are happening behind the scenes here at Seams To Be Sew. Over the last few days, I have mainly been working on my blog to bring you a special treat come the start of the row along. After all, it’s 5 years of row alongs in the making and quite frankly I thought it might be fun to do something a little special for it.
I’ll be posting soon also about the great giveaways our sponsors for Once Upon A Story are giving away during the 5 year Row Along celebration, there are some wonderful prizes coming your way. I know many of you are looking forward to the row along this year.
I will also be posting all the designers who are participating this year in the coming weeks.
This is a very quick post today… With a thank you to Sharon who sent me an email about these Sew Alongs, this wonderful site has one fantastic botm’s going on right now, it’s in it’s fifth month tho so be prepared to spend some money if you want the previous patterns, but I say why wouldn’t you, this Retro Flash BOTM is so worth the cash for the patterns you may have missed.
If you look thru her site you’ll see some other great projects also. I just fell in love with this site when I saw it.
She is also starting a new one as of April 1 called Grandma’s Garden and it looks very inviting. These patterns are available free for one month and they they go to what looks like a 4.99 per month pattern.
Please note I did find it a little difficult to find the download line in her posts. You will need to read, and try clicking to find them.
I’ve added these botms to my botm page here.
This one is not necessarily a Block of the Month type project, but more of a technique of the month type project. However, it is limited in that the workbook tutorial files are located for download in Jeanne’s Facebook group. To my knowledge, Jeanne doesn’t have a blog or website where she can offer these other than on Facebook. To me tho, if you’re not on Facebook, you are truly missing out on all the great goings-on that happen with it. So many great groups and so much inspiration. I guess some would say the same about Instagram I am not on Instagram tho and from the little I see of it, it’s very much like Flickr is. I know not quite the same, but popular still the same. Instagram is actually owned by Facebook. My gripe with Instagram is they limit it to mobile users. Me, I use a desktop pc, so I can’t use Instagram and I do not own a cell phone.
Anyway, if you’re familiar with Jeanne, you already Continue reading
It was a tough choice to decide which is the Free block and which is the Flickr Reward block. There are so many wonderful things about both countries. I’ve personally never been to Sweden, but I have been to Switzerland…
Bernina’s are made in Switzerland, Viking in Sweden… those are two good reasons, I own both brands of machine, but the Bernina’s are and always will be my favorite. Bernice is finally home with me after fourteen years with my mom and my sister taking care of her for me. She’s in the shop getting cleaned and ready to sew on a again.. Bernice is a 1230. Bertie is my 530 and she was purchased in 2015 specifically because she has the BSR ability and because my Viking D1 was acting up, I decided to go ahead and purchase a machine I knew had been good to me in the past….
At the same time, I have as a child always loved the story of Heidi.. this to story happens in the backdrop of Switzerland, my favorite is . movie adaptation which featured Shirley Temple.
So today marks the release of Sam In India and Egypt.
India and Egypt are two countries that intrigue me, always have, I’d love to visit these countries just for the sheer history of them.
Sunbonnet Sam in India is the 19th free block offered for the Sunbonnet Sue and Sam Travel the World botm and Egypt is the 9th country to be released as a Flickr Reward block, making the Sunbonnet Sam in Italy the 17th Flickr Reward block offered.
This release also marks the voting for November on your choice of what should be released. Your choices are Russia and Iceland.
Please note: Due to my move, releases until December may be late. Flickr Rewards may take longer, but I will extend the time into next year so you can earn all of the Flickr Reward blocks along with the extra 3 countries promised for those finishing all 24 at the by next years deadline.
One of our favorite companies for fusible’s and interfacings is joining us with a wonderful bundle of their products for a giveaway during The Road Home Row Along. I’m very excited they are offering this giveaway and I think you will be too.
