Welcome To Opposites Attract

stbs-Opposites_Attract

stbs-Opposites_AttractI have just woken up to realize my post has not posted on time. I apologize, I’ll make sure it’s online tomorrow on time. I’ll leave the free pattern of the day up a bit longer online tomorrow simply because my post is late today.

Opposites Attract is the idea of Darlene over at Quiltshop Gal. Her idea was to do a quilt where we would work with a limited amount of colors in the color wheel. I changed it up a bit and limited it to three colors, keeping it somewhat small, and making them attract by being opposite colors, with a twist.

Today’s Hoppers are:

June 01
Tweety Loves Quilting
Quilt In A Not-Shell
Life in the Scrapatch
My Quilty Musings
Kathy was suppose to be a guest poster today, but she was not able to participate.

Be sure to visit each day to join the two giveaways.

First is The Fat Quarter Shop who has generously offered us $25.00 per day of the hop for one lucky winner. You need only make a comment at each blog on their featured day.

Meet My Friend Tommy..

Tommy Turtle

Tommy TurtleThis is my friend Tommy. He’s a Turtle… Fun and Flirtatious, Slow and sure, but gets the job done. I’m sure we all feel the same way sometimes, I know I do.

So I thought you’d like a treat for this weekend only, I’m offering Tommy the Turtle in a 9-inch block pattern for you to download.

He’s also available in a purchased version with a 12-inch and 15-inch block size along with the machine embroidery and cutting files. I personally think the 15-inch would be a great pillow block for a baseball player.

Three Years Ago Today…

Seams To Be Sew 2013-04

Three years ago today, I opened my blog. It started with this post. Well, that’s not true.. it actually started with this post and it went from their. At the time, I had just started learning Electric Quilt after having owned it for years and years, and just never doing anything with it. I had already been working on quilting again, prior to that, having to purchase a few supplies I didn’t bring overseas with me, and I definitely didn’t have the fabric storage that I needed for quilting either. It’s all still stored away in San Diego. I was thinking of opening a blog at the time I wrote Bea, but I just hadn’t planned on doing it so quickly, thus, the design of my blog was quite simple. I had no clue how WordPress worked as a blogging platform, and I honestly have to admit, I never even gave Blogger a consideration, not because of anything other than the things I read about on other blogs at the time and issues people had with Blogger. So I tried WordPress and it has been interesting. It’s not that WordPress is difficult to learn, but it is setup quite differently from other platform scripts I have tried in the past. In fact, I still like Joomla better, but, Joomla was never meant to be a blogging script and that’s the difference really.

Their were several people who turned in blocks in the Flickr group, in the past few weeks. If you haven’t visited to see the blocks, be sure to go and see the other blocks. Sometimes it helps to see what others have to done to get your own creative juices flowing. I love each one of them, it’s amazing to see what other people do and how they interpret their own colors to use.

So Many Things Going On, I forgot to Post..

stbs-2016F-Two Hearts Tweeting with border-medium

stbs-2016F-Two Hearts Tweeting with border-mediumI have been a busy little beaver of late, before ya know it, I might have missed Groundhog Day if I wasn’t looking… This year, winter just seems to be taking it’s toll on my little ole body.. Cold after Cold, flu after flu, and the sneezing is driving me batty.. I got to thinking about Ground Hog day today and realized that I might sneeze it right on by… LOL I know summer people probably look forward to Groundhog Day, because it means that their might only be six weeks of winter left. Traditionally, I like winter to go on as along as it possibly can. I am just not into the heat of summer, in fact I’m more prone to stay inside in the summer than I am any other part of the year.

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year 2016Happy New Year Everyone!!!

So, how are you feeling today? Well for me, it’s already the 2nd of January and as a tradition  I don’t normally post on saturdays, but since I missed my Friday posting I am posting late, but still posting… hehehe

I had created this pattern the other day to welcome everyone into the New Year, and as I was making the pdf file, I got to thinking about how I made this for 2016, but it’s really a decoration you might use for a New Year’s party, so I realized, perhaps I should go ahead and make the 2017 block instead… So, that’s why I’m late.. I went ahead and created the 2017 block and added it to the pdf pattern.
