Oh Man, it’s been quite a week. After Monday last week, I was so busy, I just didn’t have the time to do any posting. I needed to finish our wedding gift for our nephew who got married this past Saturday.
I did finish adding the Continuous Line patterns to those of you who ordered the bundles.
On another front, I’ve also been busy finishing up block 10 for Twas The Night and I expect to release that on Friday. Sunbonnet Sue/Sam will also see a release possibly Friday or Monday.
For the last few weeks, the 2017 Island Batik Ambassadors for 2017 have been doing a blog hop with the theme of the Four Seasons, featuring fabrics that are coming out in the quilt shops over the next few months.
Today I am doing a project with a Fall Theme in mind, the line I am showing is called the Pumpkin Patch collection. I love love love the fabrics in this collection.
These are the beautiful fabrics in the Pumpkin Patch Collection.
This year’s Quilt Qwazy Queens event will be once again held in March to celebrate International Quilting Day. I love how quilters all over the world can unite for this one day to celebrate the one thing we love to do in our lives. While we may have nothing else at all in common, our one common love is the art of quilting. I consider quilting an art, others may consider it a hobby, but it is art to me because no quilt is the same, making it one of a kind, that to me is art.
There is a theme for this year, but I’m not going to make this complicated, your free to do as you like for your post, but if you wish to follow a theme, Continue reading
Hi Everyone, I’ve been working to get Sue and Sam patterns out and I’m hopeful they will be out tomorrow for you. In the meantime, why not take a trip on over to some other blogs and visit the Four Seasons Blog Hop. These are all 2017 Island Batik Ambassadors, showing off projects they have made with a season in mind using Island Batik Fabrics, my project will be out on January 29th this month and I’m hoping you’ll stop in to see it also.
Each week of the hop, a different season of the year will be featured. Mine is Fall, and I’ve designed a fun project I think you’ll love, in the meantime, I’ve posted a schedule below of each day of this blog hop and from some of the projects I’ve seen, you won’t want to miss seeing them. This is the last project Continue reading
There are many things that bring quilters together, but one of the funnest each year is a block of the month, or a quilt along, row along or any other event that captures our imagination and creativity.
Whether you participate in a class at your LQS or one from a blog on the web, they are totally fun and enjoyable. From Mystery Quilts to Pieced and Applique, a block of the month around the web or in your LQS varies depending on what the teacher/designer/blogger wants to do. Some will give you a tutorial, some will write out the full pattern on the post page for the block, some will give you a pattern to download and like me, assume you know what you’re doing. As an applique designer and so many ways to applique, I create my patterns so depending on your favorite technique you can do what your most comfortable with. Each of these bloggers who are featured also does so.
Last week I presented you with a list of known blogs at the Continue reading
Somewhere in this world, at least 1 person hasn’t even started there Christmas shopping. I can remember as a single person always waiting until the day before Christmas to hit the malls and get it done at that time. Back then, there was no internet, the malls and shops were always very busy, parking was a nightmare. When I got married that all changed. Everyone in my new family was not even in the same state we were, so we had no choice but to ship everything. In today’s world, thank goodness for the internet, I can shop online and have it delivered right to them, no need to wrap, no need to guess at what they like or dislike, a gift card does the whole thing nicely. I love gift cards. I do give gifts of my sewing projects, but I’ll be the first to admit, that my sewing this year has concentrated mostly on wedding gifts I’ve made for the wedding were just at, and the wedding we have in February to go to.
I hope you have your shopping and even your sewing done. By the time you get to this date in December, it’s not too likely you’re going to even get a package to someone in time for it to arrive by Christmas Day. I think all the shippers have set today as the last day to do Express type mail, so if your planning to still ship… you need to Express it today.
So today, I’ve asked the previous designers of the Christmas Caroling Row Along Continue reading
Each year I try to post what’s happening around the web. I’m certainly not the only blogger who offers a yearly event, and I myself enjoy visiting all the different events that happen around the web each year. I know many of you visit my Block of the Month page during the year, it’s one of my most visited pages on this site each year and always becomes a new page during the year. I’ve never removed any of those previous pages, so it’s easy to go back to see previous events and visit among some of the blogs that feature amazing projects or wonderful blocks for us to make.
