This one is not necessarily a Block of the Month type project, but more of a technique of the month type project. However, it is limited in that the workbook tutorial files are located for download in Jeanne’s Facebook group. To my knowledge, Jeanne doesn’t have a blog or website where she can offer these other than on Facebook. To me tho, if you’re not on Facebook, you are truly missing out on all the great goings-on that happen with it. So many great groups and so much inspiration. I guess some would say the same about Instagram I am not on Instagram tho and from the little I see of it, it’s very much like Flickr is. I know not quite the same, but popular still the same. Instagram is actually owned by Facebook. My gripe with Instagram is they limit it to mobile users. Me, I use a desktop pc, so I can’t use Instagram and I do not own a cell phone.
Anyway, if you’re familiar with Jeanne, you already Continue reading
Coming this Friday, March 15, is Quilt Qwazy Queens. I hold this event each year to honor Worldwide Quilting Day. It’s one of my favorite events of the year.
Each year I pick a different theme for this event which I hope will be fun for everyone. This year I asked bloggers to show us there craziest projects they ever made. It could include crazy fabric, or something that turned out just fun and wacky, or could use various materials to make a quilt like a project. I can’t wait to see what everyone shows off starting this coming Friday. I’ll give you a hint.. mine is not necessarily quilted, but has a quilted effect. I made it nearly 30 years ago when I was first learning to quilt and because it’s wearable, and yes, I do still wear it today I get many comments on it. It will be fun to see what you all think of my crazy and wacky project.
Today I am providing the schedule so you can plan your schedule.
Hi Everyone, I’ve added a few new block of the months going on around the web to my 2019 list. I thought you might like to know about them, so really quickly, here they are..
I definitely have my favorite block of the months I look foward to each year and so I was happy to see that Buttermilk Basin and Morning Glory‘s botms had started. You might have missed block 1 from Buttermilk Basin, but block 2 is up and if you like working with wool (you can do them in cotton also) you will want to get to their site and get block 2 downloaded.
Reeze always does her main block for each month and then throws in a bonus block, so be sure you are on her newsletter so you get the coupon code for the bonus block.
The cute Gingerbread Village BOTM from Days filled with Joy is just getting started and is an absolutely adorable embroidery BOTM.
And… At Little Rabbit Quilt Co, Rosie is starting a new BOTM on March 01, if you visit her blog you can already tell this is a BOTM you won’t want to miss as she has some very cute patterns. I’m just getting to know Rosie as she has signed up to do the Row Along this year but I can tell she’s gonna be a great friend already.
These BOTMs are also Continue reading
My sincerest apologies, my post is late this morning. I went to bed last night and totally forgot to write my post. So this is a very quick post on the project I made for this hop.. Bea at Beaquilter is the hostess of this hop and such a great idea. Over the last few months I can honestly say I’ve been thru most of my old books… and by that I mean throwing them out. Sadly, the majority of my books were ruined in the flooding of our basement last June and July when we had those hail storms. I have only a few books that were not downstairs and those are the books that I purchased while living overseas.
Over the years tho, I’ve mainly switched to buying ebooks.. I like this much better as those books are right on my pc and easy to just get to when I need a book. The books I used for this hop ended up being books I purchased online while we were living in Italy.
Can you believe it… It’s the event each year I look most forward to and this year is five years in a row. (pun intended) 🙂
Coming September 3, 2019, we’ll start this six-week event again running on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s each week until it’s over.
We have some changes this year which I’ll address inside the blog post.
At the time I noticed this blog hop was at play… I was already working on trying to finish up my newest nephew’s projects for his birth which came in late January. I am now a Grand Aunt and I am thrilled beyond belief… Almost like someone who would become a grandmother. So, I decided to put together this little project real quick as I’d been wanting to create it and had not had a lot of time to get to it.
It’s turned out far cuter than I’d first imagined. Sometimes when working with fabrics we can see how something is going to go together perfectly and other times you know you’re taking a risk and it’s either going to pay off or it’s not. This time it was worth the risk. I really love how this little project turned out.
I do apologize for my recent absence. between working on Sue/Sam’s to get them ready for release, the Cupcake of the Month, and TTNBC, I’ve also had the flu, have been dealing with more leg issues.. Apparently, according to an Ultrasound I had, I have something called leaking veins. The doctor wants me to have laser surgery that she isn’t sure will even work to resolve the issue. My question is, why should I pay for a surgery that may not work? So, I’m debating it, in the meantime, another sore has cropped up on my foot and I’m working on getting that fixed. Some very bad news came last week when we found out my niece who was asked by her longtime boyfriend to marry him on Christmas day last month, has died last week from blood clots in his lungs. It’s a difficult time and so many bad things happening so far this year that I’m not liking 2019 so far this year. It just seems so wrong for my niece to have to go thru something so tragic.
On another note, my internet is still giving me fits, thus the late posting tonight. I have even had my project done for about two weeks now, so it is frustrating that I went to write my post earlier tonight and kept getting interrupted by the internet shutting down on me.
So, are you curious what I made for this really fun blog hop by Carla at Creatin In The Sticks? Continue reading
