In my ongoing journey this year to explore and learn more about, Electric Quilt along with celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary with QuiltShop Gal and learning new techniques, my post today delves into adding text in Electric Quilt. It’s really amazing that we can take the fonts on our computer and literally have Electric Quilt automatically make them into an applique object, just by adding the text to our blocks.
The idea for this lesson came along because Joan Kawano of Moose Stash Quilting and I are doing a Signature Swap Along, where you can participate by making a signature block and swapping it with us. You can find that info here.
Mind you, you do have to place your block or your project on your quilt layout, and text can only be added on Layer 2 of the quilt work table.
I’ve created the first video today on how to do this, and the second video showing you how to rotate your text.

Craftsy is having a 50% off sale on all classes thru June 13
This is a good time to sign up for a class you may want. 50% off is a really good deal. It’s not a “up to” like they usually do, it’s all classes.
