Somewhere in this world, at least 1 person hasn’t even started there Christmas shopping. I can remember as a single person always waiting until the day before Christmas to hit the malls and get it done at that time. Back then, there was no internet, the malls and shops were always very busy, parking was a nightmare. When I got married that all changed. Everyone in my new family was not even in the same state we were, so we had no choice but to ship everything. In today’s world, thank goodness for the internet, I can shop online and have it delivered right to them, no need to wrap, no need to guess at what they like or dislike, a gift card does the whole thing nicely. I love gift cards. I do give gifts of my sewing projects, but I’ll be the first to admit, that my sewing this year has concentrated mostly on wedding gifts I’ve made for the wedding were just at, and the wedding we have in February to go to.
I hope you have your shopping and even your sewing done. By the time you get to this date in December, it’s not too likely you’re going to even get a package to someone in time for it to arrive by Christmas Day. I think all the shippers have set today as the last day to do Express type mail, so if your planning to still ship… you need to Express it today.
So today, I’ve asked the previous designers of the Christmas Caroling Row Along to vote on the theme for next year. I am excited to see which theme they choose to do… As a hint the themes they are voting on are: My Happy Place, Fantasy and Fairies, and Nursery Rhymes. Don’t those sound like fun themes to do for the Row Along in 2018. We’ll know how they all voted next week when the poll ends. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the themes.
Today on Craftsy I uploaded the Machine Embroidery version of the Christmas Borders for everyone. This set is completely continuous line design in the hoop with the exception of the eyes on the Santa and the Reindeer. I’ll be updating the Hand and FMQ patterns to show those in all continuous line also or ways to make there patterns Continuous line. Five of the patterns in that set are not continuous line since they have separated sections, but are still considered Continuous line. To find it easily, click the link above, or on the image below.
I also created a video for those of you who may not know how to line up your borders for your quilting in the hoop. This video is only good if your using the machine embroidery designs. You do not need Embrilliance software in order to do this technique, but you do need some form of editing software. The technique is basic to all softwares, I chose Embrilliance because it is my favorite editing software. If I am asked, I could also show how to do this in other software’s, but because the technique is basically in the same, I believe you can figure it out on your own if you are at all familiar with your own editing software.
I have also uploaded a fun quilt for New Year’s enthusiasts. It is another quilt done with piecing and not applique, it has 4 bonus patterns for each year from 2018 to 2021 that are not sold individually.
Clicking Each Image Will take You To That Pattern.
Artwork for all blocks except the yearly blocks is from Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.
The yearly blocks were created by me.
And last, I added the Temecula Quilt Shop to the BOTM list I posted the other day. The Quilt Along has already started, but it’s not to late to join in.
With Christmas being on Monday, I will not be posting again until Tuesday the 26th of December, I wish you all a beautiful Christmas, and a lovely holiday season. Thank you for the warm wishes and a wonderful year of visiting my blog and following my adventures as a quilter.
