Once Upon A Story… Day 05

Once Upon A Story Row AlongThe other day, I was sending a notice to someone about how they’d won a giveaway. She asked me how come I name the days the way I do for the row along. I said it’s because it’s how the days fall with this event. She thought it was interesting, but odd, and I said, well if I said Day 05 was actually Day 14, wouldn’t you wonder where the other 9 days of the event were? She laughed and said yea I guess I would. I thought it was a funny enough story to let you all in on why I name the days of the event the way that I do.

Today is Day 05 of the Once Upon A Story Row Along, we have 6 days left over the next 3 weeks. Today are another three designers are here to show you some fun rows and hope that you enjoy them. We’d love to see you make something with the rows, I can promise you, I know of no designer wo doesn’t love seeing what people make with there patterns. I know for me, I love seeing what happens to my patterns and what people do with them or how they incorporate them into there projects.

I’ve noticed that all the patterns so far have been free except for Miss P Designs USA, which is $10, is there a reason for this? Are the patterns, going forward, going to cost this much? Just wondering…

On the first day of the row along I mentioned that designers are only asked to keep there downloads free for one week. After that time, they are free to place their patterns up for sale, leave them online for others to come along, or to remove them. It’s their choice on what to do. It did use to be different, but we found it was unfair to those who start the row along because those who end the row along didn’t have to keep there’s free for as long, so the rule was changed to accommodate everyone. Because it’s very easy to just come and download you do have to get it done in a timely manner and a week is more than enough time to stop by and get it downloaded. My pattern from last week is also no longer free as of this morning, I did leave it for an additional 24 hours, but it was always only going to be free for a week.

on the first is it right that you didn’t have a row so there were only 2 that week if you did have one where would I go to get it thank you for your help

    • AvatarMarian says:

yes, that’s correct, on the first day, I wanted to give a little bit of history to the row along itself. 5 years of the same event is a pretty big deal to any event type of site. Blog hops have always been popular, but they are rarely the same theme over and over, whereas the row along changes the theme each year, but the event itself is always held in September/October and runs for six weeks, and features rows that you can create a quilt or other projects with.
