Today is the last day of the announcements for the giveaways. I believe in a post I did for Qwilt Qwazy Queens 2016, I mentioned that my sewing room has no overhead lighting in it. You can imagine what this is like when your sewing at night and have very little lighting. At first, I purchased some cheapie lamps from Amazon, they are floor lamps, but all they do it seems is light the ceiling. That is of no help when your sitting there stairing at a ruler and fabric and you need to make a precise cut. So, I took the plunge and purchased some better lighting. I purchased some Ottlite’s. They have been a sponsor of several of my events at this blog and I wanted to give back. Ottlite is not an inexpensive solution, but it is the best solution for me. I need good lighting. I have bad eyes, and they aren’t getting any younger. I’ve only lived in one state ever that didn’t require I wear glasses while driving and it’s not my current home here in Colorado either. I can be sited with a ticket if I’m not wearing them. Suffice it to say I keep a pair of glasses in the car all of the time. 🙂 I couldn’t afford to buy all the lamps I needed at once, but I did buy one a month for several months until I got enough lighting going on in my sewing room that I felt I could see well enough with. Every single lamp in my sewing room is an Ottlite lamp. I simply love them. There are 5 lamps in my sewing room currently and I’d like to get one more for use in the closet area as I keep bins in there of the small things like buttons, beads, paints, etc… They are on a shelving unit and it would help to not always carry a lamp over to the closet. 🙂 Sometime soon I’ll buy another lamp. But during the Row Along, you can win there newest designed lamp. I hope you will love them as much as I do.
Next is Martelli Notions, they to have been very generous in many of my blog events always with an offer of one of there wonderful rotary cutters and some extra blades. While it took me a bit of getting use to cut with mine, I absolutely love it and actually use it more now than I do my original Olfa cutter I bought back in the early 80’s. The great thing about the rotary cutters from Martelli Notions, is that they are meant for people who have problems with there wrist such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, and even tendonitis. You do not need to use a lot of pressure to cut with these cutters and that’s a bonus to anyone with these wrist issues. They even offer a rotary cutter for left handed people.

Next, a little bit of news on new Sew and Quilt Alongs… Normally you can find me on the very last day of the month hitting all the sites with botms… I’m very bad about getting it done on the last day of the month, but today while visiting other sites, I noticed a few new ones..
I found some new Quilt Alongs and Sew Alongs.
Jenny’s is every week and you’ll have to visit her site to download the pattern.
The download is available from Dropbox.
She started it today, so it’s still available.
The Boo To You has already started, it’s two weeks in, but they do not remove the free downloads, so you can still download those patterns.
and Winter Flurries hasn’t started yet, but you can read about it when you click the image above.
All three of these have been added to my block of the month page also.
I’m working on Sue/Sam tonight and over the weekend. I’m hoping for a release tomorrow, but if it’s not done, it will definitely be released on Monday the 3rd.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!!!
