Today, I want to post the schedule and mention the sponsors for this blog hop. I will write about them closer to the hop with the wonderful giveaways they have offered for this event.
Quilt Qwazy Queens is in the third year hosted each year by Seams To Be Sew. Each year I try to cover a different theme which makes quilting fun for all of us. This year’s theme is no different, I thought it would be fun to encourage bloggers to take out those UFOs they’ve wanted to finish for ages. I personally have a UFO that I carried all the way to Germany with me when we first moved to Germany in 2002. It then went on to Italy when we moved there also. It then moved back with us to Colorado. I only touched it one time during all those years and that was to lay it out and try to find a layout I liked so I could start putting it together. That is when I realized the value of my Bernina 1230 which was the machine I didn’t bring with me to be overseas with me. Back then I had decided because I had a new machine I was going to learn everything possible about machine embroidery so I took only the Brother machine with me. In 2004, I purchased a Viking Designer 1 so I could quilt, but again that Bernina just kept coming back to playing games with my mind… Sadly it was never in Germany or Italy with us. It was always stored in Utah with my mom or my sister. The only parts of the machine they didn’t have were the feet of the machine and the bobbins. They were stored in San Diego with everything else and there was no way I was going to go thru all those boxes just to find some bobbins and some sewing machine feet. I should have just bought new feet and bobbins and taken the machine back with me on one of my trips, but it never even once occurred to me to do that. So when I laid that quilt out and started to piece it, I realized very quickly I liked my 1230 way to much to use any other machine on it and I set the quilt aside to piece it when we returned home… Silly eh!!! The thing is, my piecing totally improved when I bought that 1230, my quilting improved, even my sewing improved so I think my being unsatisfied with how the brother and the Viking sewed seams just crept into my mind and wouldn’t let go, thus, the quilt never got finished. There is more history to this quilt, but I’ll save that for my featured day’s post during Quilt Qwazy Queens.
Today I am announcing the schedule for Quilt Qwazy Queens. This will give you an opportunity to visit each of the blogs who are participating, they to might talk a bit about the history of there UFO, maybe they will even show previews and it will entice you to come and visit them during the hop.
