I bet those of you who know I already posted today thought I wasn’t going to post again eh!!! Well…. Surprise!!!! 🙂 For me this week has been busy, busy, busy… My Monday started off just weird… I started out doing one thing and ended up totally doing something else all working on issues with my blog. It was nothing serious and you as the visitor would really not have noticed anything wrong but in the admin, when you have an error message you know it needs to be fixed. I can’t afford to hire someone to deal with WordPress issues so after tinkering for many hours I finally went to my host. If you happened to visit that day you may even have experienced the different themes I installed that day. At one time on Monday I had at least 3 different themes installed within an hours time to try and find the error. I admit it’s been a really long time since I have experienced WordPress errors as I really do watch over my blog very carefully, it should have occurred to me that it was an addon and that’s what it turned out to be. With all that work I ended up going to bed at 3:30am Tuesday morning. So not fun… On Tuesday and Wednesday, I worked on getting the Utah pattern ready for release, and it was ready yesterday for me to release, but alas, I got busy exploring on the web and totally forgot to post it. So here I am today, now with this being the second post of the day and wanting to slap myself silly for forgetting to post yesterday… However, had I not explored the web you wouldn’t be able to enjoy what I found for you all which I’ll post about in this post also. Thus it’s not entirely bad… 🙂
Sam In Utah is the free pattern for the Utah blocks. Utah is the 32nd state block release for Sue and Sam.

Next, there are many new “events” going on right now, so many I thought I was going to go crazy yesterday while surfing the web.. So a quick break down.
First, the Love and Hugs From Australia group on Facebook is doing another Sew Along. Each Wednesday a new free pattern. This is the 3rd week, but all the patterns are still free.
Next is this cute Christmas In July Pattern Parade.
I couldn’t find much info on this, but it started a few days ago. I do not know how long any of the free patterns will be available, so I’d get to this one as soon as you can.

From My Carolina Home, Carole is the hostess of this event.
Woolen Oak MysteryThis one has already been going on for a bit, but all the patterns are still available to download. There are some very beautiful patterns from these shops, and a Facebook group also. These are patterns for wool quilters but as you know you can also do them in cotton. This one is brought to you from the people at Calico Patch who are also doing the Sunbonnet Sue botm each month also. These are released every Monday, and it still has 6 weeks to go.
Christmas By The Sea is also happening right now. It’s in it’s 3rd week, and is another wool event. This is being held between just two designers, Rusty Crow and Hattie and Della. This is a weekly event and I couldn’t again find much information, each Wednesday has a new release, and the patterns seem to no longer be free after the next release. In other words, weeks 1 and 2 are no longer free, but week 3 still is available. There is a Facebook group for this event also where you can show off your ornaments.
This one ends today and most of the patterns will be up for several days, while others the patterns will go up for sale tomorrow. This features 10 designers and some of these are absolutely wonderful patterns and well some… you get my drift… 🙂 Each blogger has the entire list of participants on there post tho so it’s easy to grab the patterns while you can.
Some of these events will only give you the free pattern if you subscribe to a newsletter, this for me touches a nerve, so I don’t ever sign up for newsletters and especially when it’s a popup window in my face of every page I load on there blog. I just find that annoying and if I were already a subscriber I’d be even more annoyed. The way around this if you really want the pattern, signup, activate, download the pattern, then unsubscribe. Reputable newsletter companies will unsubscribe you and most quilting newsletters I’ve seen use reputable newsletter companies.
I get enough email and it’s the reason I don’t do a newsletter because I suspect you do to. If I ever get my shop open on my site I’ll do a newsletter with that, but only for the shop itself.
Carolina Moore is the brainchild idea behind Quilt Block Mania. Each month is a new theme and is released on the first Tuesday of each month a new block from various designers. Each designer decides how long there blocks will be free so please try to get around to the sites within the first week of this event or you might lose out. Augusts theme is Back To School. This event has been listed on my Around The Web botm page.
Next, an upcoming very fun event
From the very fun bloggers who also brought you
I Wish You A Merry QAL in 2017
Fall Into A QAL Blocks in 2018
and the really cool Sew Lets Quilt QAL 2019
This is a weekly event starting August 4, 2020
and runs thru Nov 3 with the blocks free until Dec 1, 2020
This one also has a Facebook group and if you haven’t already joined from other hops you’ll want to do so for all the fun, inspiration and the announcements for new releases. This event has been listed on my Around The Web botm page.
and last but definitely not least today…
Coming August 2, 2020
Quilting Around the Block is a fun event that consists of many designers who are getting together to create a block for each state in the USA. I myself am doing two states in this event which is weekly starting August 2, 2020 on Sundays. I will be doing Colorado and Wyoming. My blocks aren’t scheduled for release tho until 2021 which for me is a very good thing. I will be posting tho each Saturday for the event to let you know who the blogger is to visit on Sunday. This event was developed by Kathryn LeBlanc at Dragonfly Quilt Shop. This event has been listed on my Around The Web botm page.
I did not list all the events on my botm page because the others are very short events and will not last thru August.
Upcoming Blog Hops or Row Alongs

I am an affiliate of the above companies when you click one of these links and purchase something, I earn a little bit of a commission with it. I use this money to help maintain my website and offer my free patterns to you. Every little bit helps, thank you so much for clicking and for your support. I don’t just offer up these brands to you I actually use their products and shop at these places. I would never partner with someone whose products I didn’t use.
Please remember it takes 2 minutes to comment, please say Thank You, whether you downloaded a free pattern, read a tutorial, or just learned something new. It takes time for people to write a post, take pictures, make a project or even write a pattern.
Let them know you appreciate it.
