Sue and Sam Kentucky and Saskatchewan Released… + 2 more Free Patterns…

I know it’s been a long time coming. I am slowly getting back on track but my internet issues are becoming worse and worse. Three times since December someone has been here to try and fix the problem. The internet will be good for a week and then be back to on/off, on/off..I would actually change carriers, but I have no clue who to switch to. I’ve already been thru 2 of them because they up there prices after a few months… I can’t afford to pay more than a certain amount so I need to stay with a company that at least keeps there prices the same for at least a year at a time. I definitely need to switch phone companies tho. When my internet goes down, the phone also goes down. So my advice to you, don’t use the same phone company (landline, possibly even moble) that you have your cable with. I really don’t recommend it.

Suffice it to say this post has been a long time in the writing. Over the last few weeks I’ve been trying to get these patterns posted. I finally finished them today.

I am releasing February’s Cupcake of the Month, Sue and Sam from Kentucky and Sue and Sam In Saskatchewan. I also have some very cute gnomes today that I am releasing. They are all available on my Payhip store. However, I also have 4 free patterns for you today… Who loves Free 🙂 I know I do.

I am also looking for two new testers, if you have applique experience, please see the post inside.

So, open the post and find the Free downloads…

The First Two Free Patters are Sam’s of course.

Free Pattern Has Expired

These patterns are free for the next two weeks thru February 26, 2019
I may have forgotten to place the rewards expiration date on them and or the rewards expiration date may be dated already, but I always set this as a month from when they are released, so the date is
March 11, 2019. I will check the pdfs after I post this and fix the dates if necessary.

These blocks are released at the moment as they are available.

Colorado is the next state to be released. Once Canada is done next month I will be releasing blocks every two weeks for the USA so that I can finish this series this year.

Nexxxxxxxxxxt is Cupcake of the Month…

Last year I stuck with one artist but this year I’m just going to pick a favorite for each month and post them. This will work the same as it did last year, one month free the next month is a paid pattern. By helping to pay for these patterns, it helps me to offset the costs of artwork for my patterns.

I am looking for a few testers for my patterns. You must have applique experience, and at least experience with machine applique on your sewing machine.  As a tester, you must be able to finish a pattern quickly, within a week is the longest I am usually willing to wait. Of course if you find problems with the pattern you need to write me immediately so I can fix them and get a new pattern to you.

A cutting machine is optional, but I don’t always send test patterns with the SVG files created. You won’t be testing any machine embroidery files so it is not a requirement to own a embroidery machine.

What you will receive as a tester, the full pattern once it is released so you have your own copy, and you can pick a pattern of the same value from my shop. This is new this year. In the past I’ve given Christmas bonuses, but with a slow year I realize that is not always feasible. your name will also appear in my patterns as a tester. You will supply your own fabric, scraps for the most part, and supplies.

What I require from you is a photo of your finished block. it must be finished with all embroidery done whether you do it via hand, your sewing machine or your embroidery machine. You will have to ask for embroidery files as I don’t normally provide these to sewing machine testers. You must list any issues you had with the pattern. A photo of the problem is also really helpful. I am pretty accomodating if you can’t finish within a week’s time, you need to let me know how much additional time you need and we will work it out from there.

If you believe your someone who can take on this task, please write me via my contact page.

I will get Flickr rewards done and caught up today also.

I have a HUGE question to my Aussie friends and followers. Do any of you by chance watch My Kitchen Rules AU version? It started about two weeks ago and I normally watch this via my VPN service. I got hooked on this show when we lived in Italy and so now I follow the show avidly. If you do… I would really like to hear what’s happening as I haven’t been able to watch for the last week or so and am curious about Josh and Austin I think that is there names… They were the young Christian Homeschooled boys. They were way to rude for my liking, but I would like to know what happened to them. I will catch up with the episodes once my connection stays on long enough to get thru the shows.

Well that is the longest post I’ve written in awhile.

Coming next week, I’m participating in two hops, and two in March. Coming is two new TTNBC patterns and Sue/Sam in Colorado. I also have a new St. Patty’s day pattern in the words I hope you will like.

Some of my email in mid-January has gone missing. If you wrote me between January 20 to January 27 please write me again. I think with all the issues I’ve had with my internet that somehow these emails have gotten lost. I know you may not realize if you wrote me between these dates, but you might be able to check your sent folder for emails to me. Several of you wrote when I didn’t answer so this is how I know I am missing emails from these dates. I finally caught up on all my email this past weekend and those are the dates I am missing emails for.

  1. Thank you for your generosity. Your designs are so cute! I can’t wait to make a quilt up for my twin granddaughter & son. They just turned 5, but refuse to be separated yet. Dad set up bunk beds for now & will move grandson in with 2 older brothers in their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles room when he’s ready. I’m sure it’s going to be about the time our granddaughter goes full on princess. We also have 10mo old duckies & 13yr old Unicorn loving granddaughters. I hope you have some great designs for all these also!

  2. Thank you for your work and the wonderful patterns. I am in love with the gnome pattern.
I hope your internet is working now. I can completely understand you.We already had that for a longer time. That’s really stupid

  3. Thank you so much Marian. Such lovely patterns. Another time I would have immediately offered to be a tester but my husband is very sick and my sewing has come to a standstill. If things change in my life I will write to you and if you still need testers we can do something. Hope you do get a few testers.

  4. Thank you for the awesome freebies you shared with us, Marian. I love the patterns and appreciate your kindness in sharing them.

  5. I am in rural Ohio and my internet is fantastic with Spectrum it did bug me when Time Warner sold it to them, however it has been good and when I called them and needed to save some money since we bundle, we did get better options for almost 100 less. I also have a tracfone which is smart. So even if I loose net I have phone. Good luck and post whenever you can, we can be patient.

  6. Thanks for the fantastic patterns Marian, Well I’m an Aussie but I don’t watch MKR, I googled it though and it seems that the 2 lads got a blasting from Manu for their efforts in the kitchen. I get soooo frustrated when I lose my internet so hope they can work out what the problems are.

  7. Thank you so much! Went to the shop and loaded up! I love your Sam/Sue series!! And the gnome is such a hoot! Thank you!

  8. Adorable patterns!! I’m sorry you have had such difficulties with your internet…so extremely frustrating when you are expecting it to work properly all the time!!

  9. So good to hear from you! So sorry for your internet troubles. I understand perfectly the insecurity you feel in switching servers…sometimes it’s better to stay with the devil you know! lol
Thanks for the lovely patterns, Marian. You’re extremely generous!

  10. It’s so good to see you back. Sorry to hear of your internet troubles. I know what that’s like.

Thank you for all the adorable patterns. As always, your generosity is much appreciated.

  11. Awwww…such sweet new patterns. I sure do hope you get your internet issues resolved. I have horrible service here too and Qwest is our only option. We are just outside where any of the cable companies serve. Hughes net is new here and it’s satellite service, but our friends have it and hate it cause it’s so slow. 🙁

  12. Also living in rural American I can relate with your internet problems. You would think we would have our act together. Hope your difficulties are behind you. Thanks you for the cute patterns.

  13. Oh goodness, I do hope your internet is solved. This has been going on for what seems like forever. Thank you for these wonderful patterns.

  14. Whew! This may have been the longest post I have read in a while (and I may have burned my breakfast in the process, but we won’t tell anyone about that)LOL I know this takes a lot of time and effort so I want you to know that it is very much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
