So there I was, debating what to create for this blog hop, and the only thing on my mind was Halloween and what to do with that blog hop… My mind was on the Purple People Eater… not that I ever saw the movie that this saying was made famous in, but to me, a people eater is like a monster that is purple… Ya’ll know I love monsters, so there ya have it, as my mind considered the Purple People Eater, Halloween approached and my project got done, time to move on to Art With Fabric’s project… but I still couldn’t get the Purple People Eater off my mind. So, instead, I did Snowflakes… 🙂 Purple in fact.
I’ve said it many times over, I love Electric Quilt. It is the most amazing software, they offer great support and when I really need them, they have always been their for me, including when I needed a replacement cd, because I didn’t have mine to reinstall EQ with. These are really great people that go well beyond what you’d expect for tech support, a helping and always friendly attitude and getting you so you feel comfortable using the software. They have been around now for 25 amazing years. Only the best softwares in the world can boast that kind of record.
I am my usual late self, for some reason, I just had it in my head that the 10th of the month was tomorrow, even said it on my post yesterday, and then last night Quiltshop Gal was sending me the rafflecopter code and letting us know she would not be online today.. Sadly, her site is down, so it’s just Tina and I today doing lessons for you.
Today, I have 10+ tips for using Electric Quilt that will make drawing just a little bit easier.. This is not a short video, it’s just right around 42 minutes long, but it is packed with tips and techniques that will make it well worth watching.
This lesson is based on the lesson Heidi at Electric Quilt showed us last year. It’s based on the same lesson but is different because it uses photos of rows, with border stripes and panels to show you how to create a simulated layout of what your quilt may look like or the goal to achieve for finishing your quilt.
This lesson was created specifically for the Road Home Row Along, but also in conjunction with my lesson of the month for EQ’s 25th anniversary celebration. Other blogs participating are listed inside the post.
It’s that time of the month again when I present a new trick, tip, or tutorial to help celebrate Electric Quilts 25th Anniversary. It’s pretty amazing how fast this year has gone by.
This month’s lesson focuses on just a quick tip how you can find out a size you need to cut easily without drawing anything.
As a little note… I am looking for this fabric, would anyone have any they would let me purchase from them, or perhaps your LQS has some. I would like at least 3 yards, but I need about 1 1/2 to finish a current project I am working on. If it weren’t already in my project I would change it to something else, but I thought I had enough and it turns out I don’t have enough fabric.
This fabric is Island Batik’s Holiday Poinsettia Metallic Gold
Today is your lucky day… I not only have for you the newest release for Perfect Pairs, but I also am releasing my newest EQ video.
Yes, Sir-ree… (I don’t think that’s how you spell it, but I’m telling Grammarly to leave it be) it’s the 10th of the month and that means it’s EQ Anniversary Lesson day. A once a month event I am participating in with Quiltshop Gal and several other amazing bloggers on the web who on the 10th of each month release a lesson for Electric Quilt.
This is another short one… I know it’s pretty amazing, two months in a row, and short to boot… Who knew I could make some short lessons… Continue reading →
It’s the 10th of July and time for a new lesson in EQ. In my ongoing journey this year to explore and learn more about, Electric Quilt along with celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary with QuiltShop Gal and learning new techniques with other bloggers who are sharing in the experience, my post today covers a trick I learned quite by accident this past month when I was deleting some blocks from Sketchbook. I am very excited to share it with you today. In a very surprising 10 minutes and 10 seconds, you’ll learn a quicker way to delete items out of sketchbook..
Happy July Everyone, Happy Canada Day for my fellow Canadians, and for those of you in the USA gearing up for Monday, July 4th, Have a wonderful weekend…
Today is a great day for me, I get to announce that Electric Quilt will be giving us their newest software, EQ Mini for a giveaway item during The Road Home Row Along. If you haven’t heard of it, that’s because it is brand new. I do think it has many of the same features as the older Quilt Design Wizard, but it’s still great software just the same. There are some obvious differences between EQ itself and EQ Mini, namely, Continue reading →
