Quilt Qwazy Queens 2020 and The Funny Things…

2020 QQQ button

2020 QQQ buttonOh yes, I’ve definitely been enjoying the projects I’ve seen so far and at the same time been truly inspired by what’s been shown. I am so happy that my dear friend Joan continued with the tradition of keeping this blog hop going this year and so a HUGE Thank you to Joan at Moose Stash Quilting for a wonderful job in organizing this hop this year. She is also doing a daily mugrug series which you can see on Instagram, and Facebook, as well as her blog, it is fun to see the different “official” days of the year.

When I join a hop I usually have an idea right away about what I want to do, but this one did perplex me a bit and then I got to thinking about all the blog hops I have previously done and there have been many over my last 7 years of blogging. I love them and I love seeing projects my fellow quilters are also doing.

So I thought I’ve done some pretty funny projects over those years, so thought I’d just do a flashback to those early years… It’s kind of like an “all stars” Amazing Race… LOL

So to get started… Continue reading

Quilt Qwazy Queens Hop, 2020, and More…

Worldwide Quiltind Day 2020

Worldwide Quiltind Day 2020

Today is the start of the hop which represents all of us with Worldwide Quilting Day right around the corner this Saturday…

Did you know that March is National Quilting Month?

I did not know this until just a few days ago… I was amazed because I know September is National Sewing Month and I had the impression that quilting was just included in that. So it was a surprise to me to find out this is also National Quilting Month.

Quilt Qwazy Queens is a 5-year-old hop as of this year, that I hosted for the first four years. This year my time was just not going to be Moosestashthere and my dear friend Joan at Moose Stash Quilting offered to host this hop for me. I was honored that she wanted to take the challenge on and if you’ve seen today’s starting blogs you already know what a great job she did of getting bloggers to participate. I can’t wait to see what else is coming from the bloggers over the next 5 days of this hop. My day is Friday so you’ll see my post then for the hop.

If you haven’t seen the schedule yet, I’ve posted it below, be sure to visit everyone, there are some wonderful projects on each of these blogs and all of them will make you laugh. If I laughed and I did… then I know you will too …

I have two new Block Of The Month‘s posted also for you. I also have Sunbonnet Sue news inside this post. …. and more… have a look inside my post to see what’s happening. Continue reading

Yes It’s Time For …. Row Along Signups for the 6th Year…

It's A Garden Pary Row Along

It's A Garden Pary Row AlongEach year that goes by, I think to myself, it seems so early to do signups for an event that isn’t even going to start for another 8 months. At the same time, it does take time to get your ideas in place, draw your pattern, create the pattern, then sew the test pattern out.

Are you curious about this year’s theme? The picture says it all, but the theme this year is based on gardens of all types… Thus we are having a garden party and everyone is invited.

Today is your chance to sign up for this event. You can be a blogger or a quilter who’d like to become known as a pattern designer. This event is a great way to gain followers for your patterns, for your blog, and for your business.

I’m having some Winter Blues…..

Sweet Pea FreeForm 2 3 large

The winter blues 500I am definitely blue if there is no snow on the ground during Winter… I love love love snow as some of you know from my postings on my Facebook personal page. I often post pictures when we get snow and we’ve now been weeks without some snow, even a hint of it…. nada… We had such a good start to Winter with 4 or 5 snow storms between October and November but then.. BOOM, they just went away…

I’ve never been a fan of the color blue, it does remind me of being down and sad… However, blue is probably the one color I have the most of in my fabric stash next to greens.

2020 BOTM’s, QAL’s SAL’s and Other Fun Events

Moosestash

MoosestashEach year I bring you this list of events that have been planned out for the new year. Each of these bloggers has created an event that they will feature monthly sometimes weekly on their blog.

Today I have what is the start of those previously announced for 2020 that I have found or been sent an email about.

The requirements to make this list are simple… KIF… keep it free. Your event must be free… no book purchases, no magazines to be purchased, no pattern purchases. The pattern for the block of the event must be free for a long enough period of time to allow people to download it.. This time period is normally a month’s time.

And here is the list… Continue reading
