Woooo, day 10 already … where has the time gone?? Just two more days and we’ll be done. Please remember, no patterns will be posted this weekend. You can download this pattern today tho all weekend long for those of you who can’t get around daily to download them.
Today’s patterns are influenced by another memory of my childhood. When I was very young and wondered about the great Santa Claus and how he was going to get into our house because we didn’t have a fireplace, my dad would tell me that the Santa poster on our door would let Santa know he was free to walk right in… I remember that poster so well, it was HUGE!!! and a big jolly Santa with his big bag of toys swung over his shoulder. It had a vinyl-like surface that would keep it free from getting weathered and we had that poster on our door for many years. It’s little traditions like that, that keep my memories of Christmas in my heart.
So, I have created a series of patterns that are aimed specifically at going on the door in any part of your house. While today’s pattern is not a full door pattern, it gives you the same technique used for those door patterns and will help you down the road should you decide to create one of the full door patterns. Today’s pattern is the “pieced” pattern I mentioned on the first day of 12 Days that you’ll be getting. All the Door Knockers are pieced patterns. Continue reading
I do hope you’re enjoying the patterns. From some of the comments, I’ve received this week I can see that a few of you are. I don’t just read comments here on my blog, but those in Facebook also.
I definitely appreciate those of you who take the time to comment. It makes me feel happy that you take the time to say thank you or to just say you like them. With my internet issues this past week I’ve been just crazy about how to get the patterns online, but I also know those of you who know me know they will show up. I have the internet on my cell phone, but it’s very limited as to how much I can use and I don’t know my passwords to even get into my own website to write a post if I needed to, plus that small typewriter is very difficult to write a post with. I’d admire those of you who can do it. As a funny part of this story as to my cell phone usage know how… this week we decided to try the local pick up from the grocery store instead of dealing with holiday crowds, so I ordered my groceries online, went to pick them up on Sunday, and we sat there for 40 minutes waiting for someone to come to the car to bring our groceries. It wasn’t until I decided to call the store to see where they were that we finally understood we needed to download a cell phone app, then let them know we’d arrived. LOLOLOL!! Can you believe that? I’ll be honest when I say that it is a sheer convenience to be able to order online and just pick up and not have to deal with the shopping itself, but I am a little picky also, they had to make 3 substitutes to my list, 2 I didn’t accept, 1 I did accept and I do enjoy picking out my own fruits and veggies, even my meat as my dad taught me how to make the best picks when we used to go grocery shopping with him in my young adult years. So while I may go in for those few things I do like the grocery pickup, even tho I may be taking someone’s job by using it. I still won’t use self-checkout when I do go into the grocery store.
These last few days will offer some of the ones I have been working on all year. The pet series artwork only came out about 2 weeks ago and I set aside what I was planning to do these instead because I just fell in love with each pet, thus the reason each day this week has been a different pet.
So, on Friday, we’ll start with and finish those up next Tuesday….
Here’s is today’s free pattern as promised the Santa Bear pet pattern. Continue reading
Sadly, I’ve been without internet most of yesterday, and most of today. It finally came back on about an hour ago and I got to finishing up the uploading of the patterns. I was writing this post yesterday when it went down and stayed down. Apparently the troubles with the neighbor’s cable were not done with, they had to come and fix something in the ground.. Tore up the road and everything yesterday.
So I’m writing this post really fast on a Saturday to get it out to you. I do have a doctor’s appointment first thing Monday morning so please expect that post in the late morning hours too early afternoon. Continue reading
Hard to believe we are now on day 04 of 12 Days. It always just goes by so quickly when I hold this event each year and it just seems to get more and more frantic. I know I am a bit late posting today, but I slept until just after noon today with having to get all the stuff done I normally do in a day on the internet done last night, so having to get everything ready to get this posted took me a few hours.
Today’s post is all about those memories I have of getting under the tree and trying to remove the tape on the packages or digging thru closets, basement crannies and other fun things only to find out years later my parent hid the real presents at my grandparent’s house and picked them up on Christmas eve.
So here’s to all those little rascals having fun trying to sneak a peek… 🙂 Continue reading
I am so so sorry… my internet has been down long before I even got up this morning to write the post and get the patterns uploaded. I have no idea what time it went down, but the cable guy was outside of the neighbor’s house all day I gather trying to get it fixed. I finally have internet again, so I am getting these up very quickly now.
Today’s pattern is a lovely hot cup of cocoa with a cinnamon stick. Who doesn’t love hot cocoa in the wintertime let alone at Christmas?
Please note, because of this being late, this pattern will be available through 8:30 pm mst December 5, 2019. Let’s get straight to it… Day 04 will still go up on time if I have internet tomorrow morning. Continue reading
Hi Everyone, I’m so happy you liked the Unicorn pattern yesterday. I liked the whole series and it was really difficult to decide which of the patterns to offer as a free pattern, but I went with the Unicorn because I’ve never created a unicorn pattern before and thought you might like the change, thus the reason. prior to that, it was going to be the doggy, but at the last moment, I went with the unicorn.
To those of you who took the time to comment, THANK YOU!!! Hearing your thoughts and such is so nice. Please know that I answer questions and such that are commented on via email because I want you to see a response quickly. If you asked a question, please look for my yahoo.com email with the same title as the post in it. Check your spam folders also. I answer as quickly as possible. I answered several questions yesterday but received no reply on whether the issue was resolved.
Today’s pattern is the snowman pattern I mentioned yesterday. I hope you enjoy this cute pattern.
This is the event that I look forward to each year all year long. Yes, I love the row along, but 12 Days is an event that I do by myself on my own blog each year. No one else is involved. Like the Row Along this year, this is my 5th year of doing this 12 Days event. Each year it always starts on a different date, but I try to get it started near the first of December. It just happens that the first was on a Sunday this year and I do not like to post on weekends as most of you already know. I only do it when I feel it’s necessary, but rarely ever on a Sunday.
Many of you have been with me these last 5 years so you already know how this event works. However, if your new to my blog and this event, while I try to keep rules and guidelines to a minimum, there, unfortunately, has to be some. Please see the bottom of this post for those guidelines. The biggest one is All Downloads expire within 24 hours or the next post-release each day.
While I’m later than I wanted to be this morning, I needed to fix some issues on my blog. I’ve been trying to find a problem that I’m having with images currently with uploading them. This has been very annoying of late and I realized I really needed to fix it before I started this event today. So I spent the better part of the night trying to figure out which plugin was causing my issues. It is better right now, but the problem is not totally resolved, unfortunately.
Patterns this year include some pieced blocks, some continuous line blocks, mostly applique, and of course my traditional nativity, and snowman block.
Now, to the first free pattern of this event. This is part of a set of patterns, cute little toppers that give you a face, but the background of the face is the same as the background you choose for your block. It’s quite fun to play with the colors for this and you can net some amazing results from them. Continue reading
