Coming October 1st is my all time favorite event for the year. Please don’t get me wrong, I love Block of the Months, Quilt Alongs, and other fun events that go on thru the year, but the one I’ll call a “temporary” event is the Wooly Block Adventure Event. Since I found out about the Wooly Block Adventure event in 2016, and was actually participating in it during our move back to the states that year I have thoroughly enjoyed this event. I got to do a bit of pay if forward with this event in 2016 when I visited shops to pick up kits for others and then ship the kits to them as they had been so kind as to send me Row by Row experience patterns and kits in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, this event went to an online event. I was ecstatic. I knew at the same time we’d see a huge drop in shops that would participate because they are so against online stuff that they just refuse to participate. I’ve been told this by my own shops here in Colorado Springs. The following year in 2018, there was a large drop in shop participation, I was actually worried we wouldn’t see this event in 2019. Thank goodness, Janet must love this event as much as I love the row along each year because once again we have Wooly Block 2019. This year’s theme is Holiday Celebration and from the blocks they are now showing on the Facebook Wooly Block page, we are in for some absolutely gorgeous blocks.
How does this event work you might ask, Continue reading
Each year I try to post what’s happening around the web. I’m certainly not the only blogger who offers a yearly event, and I myself enjoy visiting all the different events that happen around the web each year. I know many of you visit my Block of the Month page during the year, it’s one of my most visited pages on this site each year and always becomes a new page during the year. I’ve never removed any of those previous pages, so it’s easy to go back to see previous events and visit among some of the blogs that feature amazing projects or wonderful blocks for us to make.
This event has passed by quickly, it’s hard to believe that we are on day 9 of this event, with only 2 more days to go.
Today’s stops are in Central New Mexico, The Netherlands, North Carolina, and Outer Space…
Please note: Craftsy made some major changes to their site this past weekend with a total new site redesign. It has rendered some links to be not working. I’ll post below showing you how to find those links if you have problems.
If your planning to create one of the rows from our bloggers, there is just 2 weeks to finish so you can enter the FlickR giveaway.
Always a favorite with kids is Peanut Butter and Jelly and no matter which flavor you prefer it’s a pure and yummy taste sensation. Perfect Pair’s release today is Peanut Butter and Jelly. This makes today’s release the eleventh pattern to be released for Perfect Pairs of the 15 to be available.
This pattern is extremely easy to put together and goes together very quickly.
The free pattern includes only the 9-inch block. The full pattern includes 9×6, 9×9, 12×12 blocks with the machine embroidery designs and the svg cutting files.
Artwork for Perfect Pairs is from JW Illustrations.
Lots of announcements in this post, so be sure you read the whole page..
Hey Ya’ll, How ya doing? Did you know that Little Bunny Quilts has started a new QAL?
Alison always has the cutest projects, this one is a mystery QAL, it started in March, and is posted once a month. It’s gonna be quick tho as it ends in July. She hasn’t posted block 2 yet, so their is time to still get started.
Next, ya’ll know I’ve been working on a new desktop recently, I am fairly sure I’ve lost some emails that came my way over the last few weeks. If I haven’t answered your email, please resend it. This would include any Flickr requests, if you didn’t get a coupon in your email, I didn’t see the email to send it. Please redo them, and I do apologize for the inconvenience I have caused. Sometimes those things just happen.
Ya’ll have a good day,
Sewing With Nancy 2016 BOTM
Quilts Art Bitty Block
Sew Fresh Quilts Christmas Sweaters QAL
Lookie, Lookie, Lots of Fun Coming for Everyone.. Nancy Zieman is giving us a new BOTM this year, and it looks great.. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do.
Janeen at Quilt Art is continuing her Bitty Block series. This is a fun paper piece BOTM, which occurs each month, and Janeen always does some really cool blocks. I have followed this one since she started it and am glad to see she’s going to continue it in 2016.
Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts has come up with a fabulous new Quilt Along and it’s a great quilt. I love the idea of it, she has placed traditional blocks inside as the sweater decoration. This looks really fun and I will definitely be following it.
All three of these new fun events have been added to my BOTM page and my sidebar BOTM displays on the right side of this page.
Don’t miss these really cool BOTMs and Lorna’s very fun QAL, which btw, starts next monday.
Well, it’s finally time to wrap up this event, and move on to other things. It has been fun, creative, and overall, a great time. I’ve enjoyed every week of the rows offered by the featured bloggers. The Flickr group has been a blast seeing what ya’ll have done with the rows, and I will be looking forward to your finishes.
I do not have my quilt finished, I have my rows finished, but they are not even on the ends, and I have spent the weekend tearing them apart, coming up with ways to try and fix them.
