Day 3 of Quilt Qwazy Queens here today…

Bunny Peeker

Quilt Qwazy Queens 2019As always, these events just seem to pass by so quickly. Its hard to believe that tomorrow will be the last day but so far and I know you might agree with me its’ been great seeing all the craziness happening in our little quilt world here on the net. I love the internet, how else would I ever get to see all the gorgeous quilts and projects that are created by others. Don’t get me wrong I also love quilt shows, but with those you are limited to those who show and don’t see the bigger picture. The internet on the other hand opened us all up to the possibilities of seeing what is happening everywhere. Thus, I love the internet.

Lets see what other crazy projects are being offered today….

March 19, 2019
Bumbleberry Stitches | Kathy’s Kwilts and More

Quilt Qwazy Queens Starts Today…

Quilt Qwazy Queens 2019

Quilt Qwazy Queens 2019It’s that time of the year again when Worldwide Quilting Day rolls around to what seems to always be the third Saturday in March. I’m kinda waiting for the 1st of March to fall on a Sunday to see if that date changes, but I won’t know until next year when it will finally fall on a Sunday. Next year it will either fall on the 14th or the 21st. We shall see 🙂 My way of celebrating this special day is by offering this same blog hop each year with a different theme. I don’t like to ask quilters to make anything although they are certainly free to do so, but instead I like for them to draw from there history as a quilter which I believe brings us all together in that special way.

This year I’ve asked them to show off the craziest thing they ever made. I’m very excited to see what they’ve done or come up with this year to show off.

Be sure you look inside, the giveaways will be are set so you can leave a comment at each site, and if the blogger has a social media page or a shop these links have also been added to give you more opportunities to enter the giveaways.

I’ve also got my free pattern per day during the hop on this page, so be sure you check out the pattern of the day to.

Here is the schedule today:

Melva Loves Scraps | Words & Stitches
Websterquilt | Seams To Be Sew

My Craziest Project…. Today For QQQ… New Patterns Released Also…

Gnome 2

Quilt Qwazy Queens 2019My project is a wearable. When I first started quilting back in 1988, it never occurred to me to make wearables as a quilted project. At that time, rotary cutters were not even a widely used product in the quilting world. I had already been using a rotary cutter for cutting patterns with for clothing. I used drapery weights instead of pins for my patterns and then cut around those patterns with a rotary cutter. Suffice it to say when I took my first quilting class in January of 1988, I blew everyone in class away with how fast I cut out that Log Cabin quilt for the shapes needed. Even my teacher had never heard of a rotary cutter. As time passed and I grew stronger as a quilter, I started taking classes at some of the shops in Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh. Back then we lived in Cumberland, Maryland which is situated about 2 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh and D.C, even tho they are in opposite directions. I didn’t go to Pittsburgh quite as often as I did D.C., but I did love the shops there and the one thing that got me there was a good class. The project that I’m showing today is from a class I took in Pittsburgh back in 1991.

Another BOTM?… Possibly!!

Machine Quilting Tutorials with Jeanne

Machine Quilting Tutorials with JeanneThis one is not necessarily a Block of the Month type project, but more of a technique of the month type project. However, it is limited in that the workbook tutorial files are located for download in Jeanne’s Facebook group. To my knowledge, Jeanne doesn’t have a blog or website where she can offer these other than on Facebook. To me tho, if you’re not on Facebook, you are truly missing out on all the great goings-on that happen with it. So many great groups and so much inspiration. I guess some would say the same about Instagram I am not on Instagram tho and from the little I see of it, it’s very much like Flickr is. I know not quite the same, but popular still the same. Instagram is actually owned by Facebook. My gripe with Instagram is they limit it to mobile users. Me, I use a desktop pc, so I can’t use Instagram and I do not own a cell phone.

Anyway, if you’re familiar with Jeanne, you already Continue reading
