Each year that goes by, I think to myself, it seems so early to do signups for an event that isn’t even going to start for another 8 months. At the same time, it does take time to get your ideas in place, draw your pattern, create the pattern, then sew the test pattern out.
Are you curious about this year’s theme? The picture says it all, but the theme this year is based on gardens of all types… Thus we are having a garden party and everyone is invited.
Today is your chance to sign up for this event. You can be a blogger or a quilter who’d like to become known as a pattern designer. This event is a great way to gain followers for your patterns, for your blog, and for your business.
Today I have for you Sue & Sam in Nebraska and Idaho. I know it seems like it’s been a while, but 12 Days kept me very busy as did the rest of December and January. Because I’m also trying to finish up Twas the Night I have held off doing these and at the same time, I do expect to have at least two releases per month over the next few months of 2 states per release. I need to finish Twas The Night which is just two more blocks and then it’s done and we’ll be zooming on Sue/Sam in the USA… I won’t finish by my March deadline, but I do think we can finish by June 2020 if all goes well.
We are finally at the halfway point for Sunbonnet Sue/Sam… doing 50 states is a big undertaking, Nebraska is the 25th state, and Sue/Sam USA is now 50 blocks large. Idaho makes it the 26th state, so we are now more than halfway done… LOL!! and there are 52 blocks. In the end, you’ll have 100 blocks for this botm.
You’ll notice some changes in the pdf patterns. Continue reading
I really wanted to get these done in December, but block 22 has so much detail it has literally taken me the last 3 weeks to write this pattern. By itself, it has 158 pages in the pdf. It’s mainly the embroidery section, the block just has a lot of detail. With it being 2020, I’ve also made a small change to my patterns for the new year and I hope you’ll like the change… You’ll see it in every 2020 pattern this year.
If you were here yesterday, you saw the free pattern I’m giving away till Monday. I am releasing the full set of animals today also.
We’ll have a Sunbonnet Sue/Sam release Continue reading
I am definitely blue if there is no snow on the ground during Winter… I love love love snow as some of you know from my postings on my Facebook personal page. I often post pictures when we get snow and we’ve now been weeks without some snow, even a hint of it…. nada… We had such a good start to Winter with 4 or 5 snow storms between October and November but then.. BOOM, they just went away…
I’ve never been a fan of the color blue, it does remind me of being down and sad… However, blue is probably the one color I have the most of in my fabric stash next to greens.
Each year I bring you this list of events that have been planned out for the new year. Each of these bloggers has created an event that they will feature monthly sometimes weekly on their blog.
Today I have what is the start of those previously announced for 2020 that I have found or been sent an email about.
The requirements to make this list are simple… KIF… keep it free. Your event must be free… no book purchases, no magazines to be purchased, no pattern purchases. The pattern for the block of the event must be free for a long enough period of time to allow people to download it.. This time period is normally a month’s time.
And here is the list… Continue reading
Hi Everyone, and Welcome to almost 2020… What an amazing time this is? We are moving into a new decade, and everything is new again with a new year. I love approaching a new decade, I must admit that I think a new decade brings many great things to look forward to. We can ask ourselves, what’s the latest technology going to be? Just as pc’s and desktops became popular in the ’90s, and cell phoneitis hit the 2000 era, and shopping online has been a major thing now since 2010… All of these things gave us new ways to live life, enjoy life a bit more and appreciate all that we have.
This year marks the 5th year of Quilt Qwazy Queens. Continue reading
Well, somehow I managed to go and lose the pdf files that I’d created for these last patterns. I did these last summer for this event, so thought they were just sitting in the folder waiting to be released… I have no idea what happened to the pdfs, but I can’t release a pattern without a pdf, so, unfortunately, I had to set about re-creating all of the pdfs again. I had the patterns proofed last night by my testers to be sure we caught any mistakes as I’ve never written so many patterns all at once before and in such a short amount of time. I know making you wait three days for the last pattern isn’t fair either, but I wouldn’t have been able to release on Tuesday as it was so I am releasing them today.
Today is all about Continuous Lines. I’d mentioned on the first day of this event I’d release a continuous line pattern and a nativity, Today is the day. As this is my 5th year I really went all out on doing nativities this year since it’s my very favorite thing about Christmas.
