This week, I will be featuring what is probably the number 1 thing that people think of when they think of Snow… and that is Snowmen. We’ll have 4 days this week of Snowmen. We’ll also have 1 day of Snowflakes and that day will also feature a fun tutorial also.
I am still experiencing internet connection issues, but here I am at 2 am writing this post to get it out for the day.
I wish there was a way to get people to read my posts. Those of you who do, a HUGE Thank You for doing so. Those who just come to get the free pattern it is frustrating to me to receive emails because you didn’t get the download in time. So I’m going to do something I never do.
So yesterday, I told you in my post that I had a companion block for the Hot Chocolate pattern. Obviously your thinking it goes with hot chocolate and to me it does. I feel you can’t go on a sleigh ride without a nice good thermos full of Hot Chocolate to help keep you warm under that blanket that’s probably covering your knees. Perhaps you have a “partner” alongside you with his or her arms wrapped around you, for me, it was my hubby, that is who I have had my sleigh ride with and it was one of the most enjoyable things we’ve ever done together.
So my pattern today is a “sleigh ride”. Continue reading
How could anyone go outside in the winter to come back inside and not sit down in front of a roaring fire with a wonderful cup of Hot Chocolate? I may not have the fireplace, but I do love Hot Chocolate. So today I share a cup with you…
You will be receiving the 8×10 pattern of this cup, perfect size for a fun mugrug. I’m sorry the text in the image does not come with the free pattern.
I do still seem to be having intermittent internet issues, guess I’ll break down and call Xfinity today if they continue.
Today’s pattern is a part 1 of 2 type pattern, you will get the other part of the pattern tomorrow. It is perfect for Hot Chocolate… 🙂
My apologies to you all, there is no reason my internet should have been down all day yesterday but for some reason it was. I waited up until 3 am this morning for it to come back online steady enough that I could finish this post up but as it wasn’t totally down it was intermittent enough that I had part of the post written and just needed to add the links for the patterns today. Thus I never got that done. I usually write my posts then add the patterns to the carts. That way I can upload the patterns when it’s time and all I have to do is to add the links to the posts. When I’m sitting here falling asleep in my chair, that’s when I know it’s time to go to bed. My connection was so on/off yesterday that every time I went to upload a pattern the upload timed out. I finally just gave up and went to bed. I do not have a secondary connection, no cell phones or mobile devices for me, so there was no way for me to even notify anyone that I was going to be late today. This is the reason I mentioned in last weeks post that sometimes I am late.
So, back to today’s reason for this pattern. 🙂 Do any of you remember a show called Northern Exposure? It was set in Cicely, Alaska and was on during the early 90s. In the opening of the show, there was a Moose who walked across the road. I love that show, my husband and I have always wanted to retire to Alaska. 🙂
Do you remember as a child going out in the snow in those fun boots or galoshes? I sure remember the various different boots we wore over the years. From fancy to downright floppy flaps I remember them like it was yesterday.
Today’s free pattern is like receiving 5 patterns in one. The snow boots come in 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12-inch sizes and you’re getting all 5 sizes of the pattern.
I was happy you enjoyed yesterday’s pattern. I thought it was so adorable and I have more penguins to come soon.
So let’s get on inside the post and download today’s free pattern.
I’m so happy that many of you enjoyed the pattern released last Friday. Thank you also for the birthday wishes, they were also welcomed with a smile.
Today’s pattern features 1 of the 3 animal patterns in the 12 Days of Snow series for 2018. The first being a penguin. I just love these little creatures, they are so cute and adorable. I hope you to will enjoy Mr. Penguin Skates.
There are also several other sites being featured today with events they are running so be sure to stop in on those also.
Calibre Arts is also running a sale again so if you weren’t able to gain a mat during the Halloween hop, perhaps you’d like to try one here for the next eleven days. It will work a little differently with this one so be sure you read the details inside the post.
As a child, I remember loving to cut out paper snowflakes. It was a fun project for us to do in school once Winter started arriving. The cool thing was then hanging them all over the classroom and seeing all the different snowflakes that were hanging on the walls and the ceiling. As I grew older I kind of forgot about them until I got married and being strapped for cash our first year I made ornaments for the tree instead of buying them. Back then, Heat n Bond like fusible’s was not even available, or if they were I did not know about them. Instead, I used my sewing machine to stitch the 2 wrong sides together. When you do this technique by sewing machine, you cut your square, and then mark your square in about 1 to 1 1/2-inch increments as a square, then stitch around each of the squares. Depending on the size of the square you cut in the first place, you could have as many as six lines or two or three lines. The cool part is that you had that stitching there which became part of the design. With this technique today you don’t have to use that option, but you could add decorative stitching to your snowflake and we’ll talk about that in the tutorial.
