How very very exciting to finally be done with this block of the month. It has been fun and great to see the samples that have been made from this series and to see others enjoy making it as much as I have provided it to you. It’s taken far longer than I would have liked to finish this block of the month but I now consider it finished with one tiny exception but that will take place silently.
Twas The Night finishes with 25 blocks instead of 24, I found an additional block that was provided to me when I commissioned this artwork that was to be a finishing block. I commissioned it separately and then went and forgot about it.
The current blocks 23, 24 and 25 do not include the machine embroidery files, but they will be added later this week. I wanted to get these released because I know most of you are not using the cutting files or the machine embroidery files.
The cutting files are in the zip files, when you purchase your blocks you’ll receive an update email when I add the machine embroidery files and you will need to re-download the pdf file to get the worksheets. I expect to have the machine embroidery files done by the end of this week.
I love my followers, ya’ll are so wonderful about letting me know about new BOTM’s, or events going on the web… it allows me to help share with the rest of you. A Huge Thank You to Marge, she wrote to me yesterday about a new BOTM she found and thought I’d like to post it on my blog.
Each month a free new pattern. This is adorable, a Sunbonnet Sue Christmas botm. I have added it to my botm page for the Around The Web BOTMs. The January block is up and will be up until February 29, 2020. I do not know if the blocks will still be free after February 29, 2020, or not, so be sure you get to there website to download. They have precut kits also available to purchase if you want to make it quick and easy.
A little oops, I forgot to post the url on this post yesterday when I wrote it, so have linked it on the image above.
Since we are now in February, be sure to be on the lookout, most Continue reading
I really wanted to get these done in December, but block 22 has so much detail it has literally taken me the last 3 weeks to write this pattern. By itself, it has 158 pages in the pdf. It’s mainly the embroidery section, the block just has a lot of detail. With it being 2020, I’ve also made a small change to my patterns for the new year and I hope you’ll like the change… You’ll see it in every 2020 pattern this year.
If you were here yesterday, you saw the free pattern I’m giving away till Monday. I am releasing the full set of animals today also.
We’ll have a Sunbonnet Sue/Sam release Continue reading
Well, somehow I managed to go and lose the pdf files that I’d created for these last patterns. I did these last summer for this event, so thought they were just sitting in the folder waiting to be released… I have no idea what happened to the pdfs, but I can’t release a pattern without a pdf, so, unfortunately, I had to set about re-creating all of the pdfs again. I had the patterns proofed last night by my testers to be sure we caught any mistakes as I’ve never written so many patterns all at once before and in such a short amount of time. I know making you wait three days for the last pattern isn’t fair either, but I wouldn’t have been able to release on Tuesday as it was so I am releasing them today.
Today is all about Continuous Lines. I’d mentioned on the first day of this event I’d release a continuous line pattern and a nativity, Today is the day. As this is my 5th year I really went all out on doing nativities this year since it’s my very favorite thing about Christmas.
I’ve had such a fun time this year releasing a series of gnomes and still have more patterns to go, but for Christmas, I created 9 gnome patterns. At first, this was to be the only release for the gnomes themselves, but then some matching homes came out for the gnomes and I decided to add them last minute to the pattern. I made this decision last week, and my testers have been busy stitching ever since. Houses 2 and 4 are not quite ready yet so they haven’t been released today, but you can get a lovely idea from this post what they’ll all look like. I expect them to be released later this week. There is a special deal for the houses, so stay tuned….
Please note, tomorrow’s post will also be late in the day. I’m at a quilting class all day and will not have time to post prior to leaving in the morning.
Some of you are still having problems with my image links. While they themselves have not been an issue for me I have had problems in the last month with my media gallery and creating a “row” of images. Thus I turned to an actual WordPress plugin gallery to re-create the very effect that I was having trying to create a simple WordPress gallery. The odd thing is I have these all over my site, but it’s simple to see what part of the problem is simply having a look at this page on my blog.. Where they use to be a row of images (well many rows, but they at least looked like a row), they now look like disjointed rows and I’m still trying to figure out why. The effect happens no matter which browser I am using. However, the links still work just fine. So because the new plugin gallery may need to fully load first the only thing I can think of is those links won’t open until the gallery post is fully loaded. I try in the first place to keep my images small just for faster page loading time, but once in a while one or two will escape and be larger than they should be.
So, let’s get on with today’s pattern… Continue reading
Woooo, day 10 already … where has the time gone?? Just two more days and we’ll be done. Please remember, no patterns will be posted this weekend. You can download this pattern today tho all weekend long for those of you who can’t get around daily to download them.
Today’s patterns are influenced by another memory of my childhood. When I was very young and wondered about the great Santa Claus and how he was going to get into our house because we didn’t have a fireplace, my dad would tell me that the Santa poster on our door would let Santa know he was free to walk right in… I remember that poster so well, it was HUGE!!! and a big jolly Santa with his big bag of toys swung over his shoulder. It had a vinyl-like surface that would keep it free from getting weathered and we had that poster on our door for many years. It’s little traditions like that, that keep my memories of Christmas in my heart.
So, I have created a series of patterns that are aimed specifically at going on the door in any part of your house. While today’s pattern is not a full door pattern, it gives you the same technique used for those door patterns and will help you down the road should you decide to create one of the full door patterns. Today’s pattern is the “pieced” pattern I mentioned on the first day of 12 Days that you’ll be getting. All the Door Knockers are pieced patterns. Continue reading
I am not a happy camper these last few days.. no internet, over 700 emails downloaded this morning to my inbox (those of you who haven’t heard from me, you will once I am online for any amount of time). I’m getting these up as quick as I can today.. Tomorrow will be scheduled to go off at midnight mst so that if I am offline you can still get the pattern.
I am seeing that some of you had issues downloading the Polar Bear which was the free pattern in Saturday Nights post. Please note, if your having problems, just saying you’re having a problem when others are clearly not having problems will not help me help you, please note what you’re using to download with, mobile, laptop, desktop, iPad, kindle, etc… browser and windows/mac versions. I also see some of you were able to come back and get the files also, so I’m glad it’s worked out. I’d intended to leave the pattern up an additional day for that reason but since I’ve been offline I can see that many of you got back to download.
The free download today is 3 patterns, one for Day 06, one for Day 07, and one for Day 08. I have bunched them all into one payhip page so when you go to that page to download, you can download all 3 pdfs at once instead of adding 3 of them to your cart when checking out.
The free patterns are Continue reading
